I get $373/mo.+tax, so pretty close.
Tax isn't just figured on the payment. You are taxed on CAP cost reductions as well (like the $3000 trade in), so that's probably where the price difference comes in.

Let me know what deal you end up with. I’m in Florida and being quoted $549 including 6% tax with $1k all in for 36/15k base tech. I haven’t ran the numbers but the payment sounds good.

I don't think that's valid on a lease, but not an expert on NYS taxes

In any case, the dealer knows how to calculate the taxes.
Ask them for the amount. Also, NYS taxes are paid upfront. If you roll that amount into the CAP cost, it then becomes subject to the money factor. When calculating a lease payment in NY, you can't just multiply the payment by the tax rate and get a monthly tax.

Hi Thanks for the help. My dealer is offering me zero drive away. Just sign and drive. I have been using some leasing spreadsheets and not sure how to roll first months payment along with dealer doc fees etc. into the calculation instead of money down. They are saying its $559 per month which seems high using the spreadsheets

I am looking at a MDX SH AWD base:

MSRP - 47,195
Sales price - 42,179

I know MF is .00092 and Residual 61% with NJ 6.875 tax

Not sure how they are treating the $1500 incentive.

Everything you aren't paying up front gets added to the sales price.

I'm pretty sure the $1500 incentive is part of the $5K discount from MSRP.

Acura dealers can't markup subvented money factors, so no worry, there.

What is the MSRP and adjusted CAP cost?

I'm not a big fan of pre-paying for maintenance.

MSRP was $52595 and sale price was $47.3K but there was another number $48893. Cap reduction was $1085 I think.

Just picked up a 2018 MDX Base in TX. 7.5k/36 mo. $474 a month, $0 down.
If my calculations from the lease agreement are correct, 66% residual off the $43k capitalized cost. I'm thinking there was some more room to run down, but hoping I got a decent price. Wanted to close this year so the taxes are deductible before the new tax bill goes into effect. Dealers were reluctant to quote prices below $490-$500 without a commitment to sign right away.

Residual is always a percentage of MSRP. 63% for 36/7.5K

First month, DMV and dealer doc fees was cash (total $550)
Actually already got the car but now trying to figure out the selling price.

The lease document had no number for the trade in anywhere ($3000).
Initially the selling price was supposedly $42400 but that was for 10k and that lead to a payment of $391 but after further negotiating, I got the same payment for 12k.
Since the mileage increased (10k->12k) but monthly payment stayed same, I am assuming the selling price came down (about 1%). Just trying to figure out what that was.

The dealer does not have to disclose any rebates/incentives, what you are after is the selling price or final cap cost amount. You don't want to be applying any of your payment to lower the cap cost, you just want to be paying the initial drive off fees, first month, registration and doc fee and acq fee if you choose. Personally I pay the acq fee up front since I don't want to be paying interest on it if you roll it into the cap cost.

Your goal should be a selling price of 45,500-46,250. If it were me, I'd call around after X-mas and see what kind of pricing you will get, you might even do better.

Since so much time is put into the pre-lease process by customers and moderators I thought I'd tip my hat and share my post-lease results. Thanks to dolsey01 and other contributors.

Although I had all the numbers details going in it came down to the dealer just moving the monthly lease amount to an agreeable number... they went from $595 to $555.

Depreciation and any amortized amounts = $16,316

Down Payment= $1,500 Comprised of: $429 Doc fee/Doc-TitleTax $27/Inspection $35, $132.50 plates and registration, $555 first month, and $323 cap cost reduction/tax.

I had 2,500 miles over 45,000 lease limit and had B16 service due. Both waived as part of Pull-Ahead/loyalty promotion. I also had 15 days left/paid on current lease so would have paid for two leases at once so original down payment was $1,800 reduced by $300 to the $1,500.

So that said, this is our 5th successful lease with Bernardi Acura of Boston, MA. Our salesperson was Stephen Santos. They were all out of silver/gray and even blue models (plenty of black/white) so we are waiting a few days on delivery. That is probably my only issue but related to inventory vs. sales process/customer service.

$1,500 down and 35 payments afterwards at $555.00 per month ($522 payment $33 taxes).

So I gotta deal in PA on a 2018 MDX Base AWD 36 Month / 10K miles for $468 per month including tax.

It's a good deal but in looking at the lease calculation sheet they gave me, I noticed they only gave me a 61% residual value. However, they gave me a retention money factor of .00074. I was expecting a 62% RV and a .00092 MF. If I plug in those numbers I actually get the same deal.

Is there a reason they'd give me a worse RV but a better money factor that benefits them and not me or does it not matter?

Can I get the 62% RV with a MF of .00074? It would save me like $15 per month.

We aren't fans of cap reduction - that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

No predictions on what the future holds, but the current Acura program is valid through the end of February.
