    Just leased a 2018 Hyundai Elantra SEL

    Traded in a very old car -- got $500 allowance for it

    Drove off the lot without writing a check or giving my CC info. $220/mo for 36 months. 10k miles

    I have to dig up the MF, but this is the other pertinent info:

    Purchase price: 18966
    MSRP: 20,045
    MF: ??
    Residual: $9,020 (45%?)
    approx 1600 in fees
    NJ (07090) tax: approx 850

    I got a total of 6,200 in rebates and noncash credits ($5,700 lease cash and $500 incentive)

    Backing out all the fees from the $220 a month, and accounting for the $500 down for my old car, the actual lease payment would be about $166 a month

    It's applied as a CAP cost reduction. It lowers the selling price of the vehicle, which lowers the lease payment.
    It saves you 100% of that amount, as it doesn't change the residual.

    Why is the total listed $650 more than the items add up to? (guessing they left out acquisition fee)
    What is the actual tax amount for the lease in NY? (should be around $1300 or so)
    What is the adjusted CAP cost?


    In NY, the maximum doc fee is $75, and they'll know how to calculate tax. You might consider shopping at an in-state dealer.
