I'm in Nassau county, New York looking to lease a 2016 MDX with tech package. The dealer came back with monthly payment $503 for 39 month. 10,000 miles each year, acquisition fee is $995, doc fee $135 and upfront tax is $1,797. A few questions, is this a good deal over all? I'm not sure if it's a typo but why is the term for 39 month instead of 36. Also, is the acquisition fee reasonable? I see MDX has $0 (down payment , security deposit & first month's payment) due at lease sign special on Acura website. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

39 month residuals are often promoted; it's up to you what lease term you are comfortable with.
Sale Price $45,900 Lease terms: 36 Months at 12 Miles a year Moneyfacto: .00141 Residual; 62% for 12k Min Drive off: $1105.96 Payment pre tax $533.88 (after tax) $582.01 Sale Price $45,900
2016 Acura MDX Tech SH AWD + Acura Watch Plus MSRP:51410
Second dealer: Lease Terms: 12k miles / 36 months with similar deals about 1000 less than invoice price with same MF and residuals: 2016 MDX TECH SH-AWD $1115.80 DOWN 12K $590 INCLUDING TAX WITH ACURA WATCH $1150.63 DOWN 12K $619 INCLUDING TAX
Thanks for the figures. I have a couple of general questions. First, do money factors decrease/increase as the year goes on? Second, interest rates are rising--will this impact money factor/lease rates?
Last, is the money factor negotiable for those who have top-tier credit? Sorry for all of the questions. I just wanted to see if it is likely that better rates will be available later in the year for the 2016 MDX.
hi there anyone have any lease "wins" in the state of Washington, greater Seattle area? looking lease 2016 mdx awd with Tech package. i am aware of acura national promo for $439/mo and $2999 down. Thanks!

1) Money factors vary depending on how the manufacturer decides to market their cars, and what numbers they need to get a payment that will sell. No real trend to up or down.
2) In a macro trend, interest rates will affect money factors, but not short-term.. see 1).
with regards to the MDX base AWD, it appears that in NJ many dealers include the destination charge in the MSRP. For instance, I am comparing two dealers - one with an MSRP of $45,785 (which includes a $920 destination charge) and one with an MSRP of $44,865 ($45,785 - $920). How does this impact - if at all - the calculation of the residual? Shouldn't it be the same for both dealers? Even though the former dealer is quoting an MSRP of $45,785, doesn't the destination charge need to be subtracted before calculating the residual?

The residual is calculated on the bottom number of the Monroney sticker.. including destination.
Can you confirm that the money factor and residual for a 2016 mdx 2wd with technology package for a 15k/36mo lease are .00131 and 60%?
.00141 MF and 60% residual. .00131 only on the "$0 due at signing" lease
No on-line source, though you might see some ads for it.
It's pretty restrictive... it HAS to be $0 due at signing, other than government fees... No trade equity or CAP cost reductions, and the dealer has to contribute the 1st payment.. It's not worth messing up a negotiated deal to get the difference in money factor.

You really need to know the MSRP when you get a quote... otherwise, what seems like a good price could be the dealer selling you a lower priced vehicle.

Hello, I didn't end up doing anything last month so can you refresh the $ factor, residual value, fees and if there are any specials this month for an MDX AWD w/ Tech NO Acura Watch for 36 month, 10k miles?
I just called the dealer and they said the residual was 58% for MDX FWD w Tech 15k/36mo in Texas. I believe the residual is 60%. Would it be reasonable for me to negotiate to get 60%?

Dealer cannot adjust the residual ... it is set by the bank.
Call another dealer and see what they have to say.
I'm looking to lease a 2016 MDX AWD with Tech Package. I want to get total cost of a 36 month lease @ 10K/yr to between $18-20k. Any advice on how to negotiate this? Ok with putting money down. Thank you for your help!

You want to start by negotiating the best price you can, just like you were buying the car. Use the price tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to help with that.
Michaell, I am looking to buy my wife a base, FWD which I've negotiated with the dealer to $38,923before fees, which would total about $1900.00, putting the cap cost at about $40,823.00. Using the numbers I've been reading on this thread (great thread, by the way), that would put the residual at $25,718.49 and at a .00141 or 3.3% rate, I'd be looking at $441.26 plus the 6% tax in FL or $26.48 for a total of $467.73. Is that about right or am I missing something here? Thank you for all the help you've put in here on this thread!

One last question and forgive the ignorance, but is the residual based on the MSRP or the negotiated price? I ask because we got down to $38,923 from the msrp of $42,865. Thanks again!

besides msrp, anything else I can negotiate?
You can't really negotiate the MSRP... but, you can negotiate the selling price. (I know..that's what you meant).
Then, just watch out for extraneous charges, and verify the calculations.
