Tonight I leased a moonlight white/graphite Q50S AWD with Nav and Touring with an MSRP of $51,225 and a selling price of $42,756.64 (plus $499 processing fee) for 39 months with 12,000 miles per year and a money factor of .00018. My zero down, pre-tax monthly payment is $430.28. Below is a breakdown of the calculation. Thank you to everyone participating in this forum (especially the moderator) for sharing such useful information.
MSRP $51,225 Agreed upon value of vehicle $42,756.64 Acquisition Fee $700 Processing Fee $499 Cap Cost $43,995.64 Residual $27,677.70 Money Factor .00018 Monthly Rent Charge $12.89 Monthly Depreciation $417.38 Monthly Payment $430.28
My dealer says everything looks right about this info except he cannot get to the monthly payment. For a Q50 Sport w/MSRP of $47k, he's coming up with monthly payment of $470? Is your monthly payment figure accurate? If so, can please provide name of dealer?

I calculate the same payment (430) using his numbers. Is your dealer including tax in the payment? If not, they are adding extra costs in somewhere.
What do you think of this deal? In socal area. Q50S RWD, Nav, Tech, Deluxe Touring, spare tire, ill kick plates. 39mo/15k $0 drive off MSRP $53095 Fees $500 Cap Cost $44122 Residual $27609 Monthly Payment $497.00 (includes tax)

Thanks.
I get $482/mo before tax; 9% tax should take the payment to about $525/mo, so your deal looks very good by comparison.
$840 due at signing... first months payment doc fees.
Monthly payment of $437.21 (I live in Illinois
THANK YOU!!
With that adjusted CAP cost, I get a payment of $368/mo.
But, I don't see any provision for the acquisition fee or tax in your deal. I'd guess that the adjusted CAP cost is not actually the adjusted CAP cost.
Also, don't bother converting the money factor to an APR. That's not used in the calculations.
I am brand new to leasing and have no idea on working out a good deal with dealers. I have purchased many vehicles in the past with great price but wanted to see if leasing makes sense for me. I am interested in Q50 AWD Premium. I am in Queens, NY. What prices should I be looking at? I would like to save overall for the time of lease and do not mind putting some money down. Thanks for any help you can provide.

You negotiate a lease just like you would a purchase ... get the best selling price possible. There are some fees that exist for leases that don't when you buy (bank fee, for example); these are due when you sign the paperwork.
After that, it's just a matter of crunching the lease numbers ... what lease term and miles per year are you looking for? .00018 is the MF for the AWD and 53% is the 36 month, 15,000 mile per year residual value.

Thx for the quick reply. I can do 24/36/39mo with 12k miles/yr. I am still trying to understand how MF and residual values work.

Looking to lease a 2015 q50 base awd in new jersey. Msrp is $41,930. Can you provide the mf and residual for the base awd in nj? For 10k, 36/39mths and 12k 36/39mths. I know most dealers nj are offering 39 mths. Also if any one in nj has recently purchased or leased a base q50 awd how much off Msrp were you able to get? How much off invoice is possible currently?
I'm looking to max out the MSD and try and get this particular base q50 awd bet. $230-260 per month. Is this possible?
One dealership in nj is offering $299/ mth for 39mths with $999 + ttl at closing. The $999 is bank fee of $700 +1st months payment. This is for the base q50awd. Thanks so much for your help!

36/12 AWD Base is 56% and .00018. Add 1% for 10K. Subtract 1% for 39 months.
Read back through the last couple of pages of posts to see what others have been able to negotiate as far as discounts; you can also use the pricing tools here at Edmunds (make / model / year) at the top of the page to help set price targets.

I am looking to lease a Q50 and feel like the price is a bit high. The dealer quoted me a Q50a with MSRP of $41,085 with a Selling Price of $37,019. That seems high given the discussion on this forum.

I'd say 37k is too high. I looked on this board and some others and it looks like discounts can be had for 15-18% off msrp.

I've reached out to three dealers and I keep getting the same monthly rate of $442 a month. No dealer will go below 7k off msrp for AWD PREMIUM W/NAVI :-\. When I ask them to quote me for just the base (with me paying first month/fee) they come back with $399. I feel like they're screwing with me lol.
For instance, here is the latest deal:
MSRP:$44,305 CAP: $39,738 Residual: 55% 39 month lease 10k miles/year $442.18/mo. (includes your 9% monthly usage tax for Chicago residents) $831.61 due @ signing (covers your first month payments and all fees)

My calculations are within .02 of what you are being quoted. Only way to improve on this deal is to negotate a lower cap price.
There may be a shortage of stock in the Chicago area, therefore the discounts aren't quite as great. You might try Milwaukee or Indianapolis to see if you can get more of a discount.

MF is marked up from .00018.
I get $457/mo+tax with the base MF; $470/mo with inflated MF.
What is the breakdown of the $1600 due at signing?
1600 breakdown includes 700$ acquistion fee, first mo payment of 503$, the rest is sales tax, documentation and liscense fee. Who sets the MF? The dealer made it seem like it wasn't up to them or negotiable.

The leasing bank sets the base money factor. Dealers can mark that up for extra profit.

Yeah.. money factors get pretty high, as you go down the scale.. Either .00166 or .00222 at your level..
I'd say shop another brand, and see if they pull a better score.. but, Infiniti has a great lease program, otherwise, so I doubt you'll do a lot better on payment.
Got a quote today from a dealer in NY for $399/mo with $2k down for 39 mo for a AWD/Premium. Can I do better? He wants me to stop by the dealership to get a better deal. Once, I am there, what should i ask and be careful of? Have never leased before.

The relevant lease numbers for the Q50 AWD Premium are .00018 and 54%. But, not knowing the MSRP or the selling price puts you at a disadvantage. I'd ask for that information before going to the dealership.
What's a good percentage to start off the negotiations off of MSRP?
Use the pricing tools at the top of the page (make / model / year) to get pricing help. You can also read back through the last page or two of this discussion as well to see what others have been able to negotiate.
Is there a rule of thumb for how dealers handle mileage above 15k? Residual percentage reduction? Money factor increase? Adding a straight 10 cents per mile onto the lease payment?
Is there a rule of thumb for how dealers handle mileage above 15k? Residual percentage reduction? Money factor increase? Adding a straight 10 cents per mile onto the lease payment?
I'd appreciate any insight.
Some manufacturers (Ford, for one) offers a straight residual modification. Most, however, deduct a fixed amount for each extra mile, but the charge varies between .10 and .25 per.
So, if the charge is .10, and you want 18K per year instead of 15K on a 3 year lease, the extra 9000 miles will cost you $900, which is deducted from the residual amount based off the 15K residual percentage.

Looking to lease a 2015 q50 base awd in new jersey. Msrp is $41,930. Can you provide the mf and residual for the base awd in nj? For 10k, 36/39mths and 12k 36/39mths. MSRP 44,145
Gross cap 33,500
RV 24,721
MF .00225
3,500 down
$345.06 month and they said $360 for 12k miles
I'm a first time buyer and credit score is 640 they're saying that's the best that they can do. They said that they had to call the bank for a favor in order for them to approve me
I'd say shop another brand, and see if they pull a better score.. but, Infiniti has a great lease program, otherwise, so I doubt you'll do a lot better on payment.
Either this, or lease a cheaper car..

I'd appreciate any insight.
So, if the charge is .10, and you want 18K per year instead of 15K on a 3 year lease, the extra 9000 miles will cost you $900, which is deducted from the residual amount based off the 15K residual percentage.
