    Hello,

Received the following lease deal in PA on a 2016 328xi service demo car.

    Sport package
    Cold weather package
    Rear view camera
    Parking sensor
    Navigation
    Moon roof
    Satellite radio
    18 inch double spoke wheel
    All season tires

    MSRP $50,095
Sale price with $1000 Loyalty Credit included $40,200

$650 down includes first months payment, and taxes (my tags transfer from my other lease).

Can anyone comment as to the deal I'm getting at $398-399 month.

$400/mo (with tax?) on a $50K BMW is a really nice payment.

Yeah includes tax. Its so hard to walk away from leasing 3 series. Tried the Lexus IS line and was not impressed with the car or the deal!

BMW is really working hard to move the rest of the 2016 inventory. Still a little out of my price range, which is why I drive a Jetta.

    Hello,

First time leasing, have been doing a lot of research and just want to make sure I am getting the best deal or if I should negotiate further.

    Got an offer in CT:

    - 36/10K
    - 2016 328xi
    - Sport package (sport leather steering wheel, 17" light alloy wheels, sport seats)
    - Moonroof
    - Heated Front Seats

    MSRP $42,895
Current Sale Price $39,000. I've been able to get them down to $38,000.

Currently at $425.36/mo which includes tax. Cap reduction $0.

$1158.11 due on delivery which includes $425.36 in "advanced payments" and $732.75 in "upfront charges".

I've told them I want to do 7 security deposits, but they have not given me an updated price yet with that factored in.

Thoughts so far on this deal? Do I have more room to negotiate the sale price down since it is a 2016 and they need to move these off the lot? Anything I'm missing?

    Thanks,
    Gina

If you read back through the last page or two of this discussion, you'll see that folks are getting much bigger discounts from sticker. I think you can do better, even if that means reaching out to multiple dealers.

Ah, so the lease price is based on the final MSRP, not the negotiated sale price? Looks like I missed that in my research. So I should be negotiating them to bring their MSRP down from $42,895 and not care much about the sale price?

No, you negotiate the selling price. The MSRP is fixed, and is the number the residual is calculated against.

Sorry it sounded like a contradiction that is why I got confused. So you are just saying try and negotiate the $38,000 down even lower, correct? Right now it seems I'm at $4,895 off MSRP but you're saying try to go even lower?

Can't hurt to try. And, get multiple dealers involved to ensure you are getting the best price.

Was able to get somewhat of an updated offer.

They will not budge on price of $38k, but they budged on MF from .00156 down to .00087 with 7 MSDs.

So we are down to $376.01 with tax.

Due at delivery $3908.76 ($2800 MSD + $1108 in fees which are conveyance fee, registration fee, taxes, and 1st month payment).

    Thoughts?

Any thoughts on this lease proposal?

    2016 BMW 340i
    • Mineral White Metallic
    • Venetian Beige Dakota Leather w/ Dark Oyster highlight
    • Driver Assistance Package
    • Driver Assistance Plus
    • Technology Package
    • Heated front seats
    • Etc. etc. etc.
    MSRP: $55,485
    Sales Price: $48,085
    Fees: $1,617

    Monthly Payment w/ $0 down: $511.17

Basically a discount of $7,400 on a 340i. I'm thinking that's a pretty fantastic deal but thought I'd check in with the experts?

What lease term and how many miles per year?

    What state and tax rate?

You paying the fees up front or adding them to the sale price?

    36 month, 10k miles a year. North Carolina & 3% sales tax.

The fees are already baked in (sales price) - it's literally zero money down at signing.

If the $48k is your cap cost, then it's a very solid deal.

    Hi, I was offered a deal for a 320i.

    MSRP 37595
    Final price: 32905
    36/10k

    3000 down and 310/month.

Do you think this is reasonable? Is there more space to negotiate?

Hello - wanted to inquire about a lease deal for a 2016 340xi:

    MSRP - $59,580

    Discount - $5,949

    Option allowance - $1,500

    Sale price - $52,131

Added costs - $925 acq fee, $7.20 title, $76.50 tax

    Loyalty rebate - $1,000

    Adjusted cost - $52,140

Residual 65%, and MF 0.00127 with seven MSD's.

This would be for a 36/12 lease, with sales tax of 7.65%. By my (and the dealer's) calculations, this works out to $525/month.

    Many thanks for any thoughts.

With MSD the MF should be .00087; dealer has marked that up the max on you. That's adding about $40/mo to the payment.

The math on your original quote is correct.

Yes, they gave me the same MF and residual. Initial cap is 34k, cap reduction is 2137 and adjusted cap is 32905.I'm not sure if the final price is adjusted cap.

I'm in CA and tax rate is 8.

With those numbers, I get $303/mo.+tax, not far off.

No need to put $3000 if you don't want. Dealers quote big upfronts to make the monthly payments seem smaller. With $1000 due at signing, add $58/mo.+tax to the payment.

    Looks like a solid deal.

Thank you Michaell and Kyfdx for your very valuable help in providing the numbers here! Here's a deal I sealed over the weekend for the benefit of others. State is VA. Thank you to Edmunds..I got the deal below through Edmunds price certificate and honestly didn't have to any negotiation because the dealer honored it.

320i with nav, moonroof and bunch of options

    MSRP 40290

    Sale Price 32400

Additional 1325 (925 acquisition, , plus registration, dealer processing), ~1340 VA sales tax (4.15%)

    Res 65%

MF 0.00136 (this is where dealer was marking up to .00176 i think) and having the number from here helped.

Monthly payment is 331 (all fees are rolled in)

Upfront 331 for first month payment.

Had I chosen to pay the fees and tax out of pocket, I think the out of pocket would have been ~2900 with monthly payment of 251.

    Enjoying the ride!

Hello - I'd like to ask a follow up question to my post on October 22.

In talking to various dealers over the last few days, I said I'd put 7 MSD's down for leasing a 2016 340xi. All client advisors have so far told me that this will lower my MF from 0.00176 to 0.00127.

When I asked whether the MF could go to a value of 0.00087, they expressed surprise or said this wasn't possible since the numbers they were using come from BMW.

I'm not casting aspersions on anyone - just wondering how to best handle this. Are there are exceptions to the 0.00087 base value? Thank you.

BMWFS allows dealers to mark up the base rate by .00040, for extra profit.

Just like the dealers, I am shocked (shocked, I tell you!) that they didn't own up to marking up the rate. Oh, wait.. no, I'm not.

I went to the local dealer for a 2016 320i. 2016's are now scarce and this is just about the cheapest one I can find that fits my specifications.

    MSRP: 38,145
    Discount: 3063.60
    Loyalty Rebate: 1000
    Adjusted Price: 34,081.40

    Taxable Fees: 161.45
    Doc Fee: 799.00
    Tax: 117.63
    Non Tax Fees: 502.00
    Balance: 35,661.48

How much more can I negotiate?

I had to absolutely pounce on the manager about the marked up money factor and the $1500 option allowance does not show up at all on the spreadsheet and he was pulling my chain saying its included and doesnt show up on the spreadsheet because its "on the back end of the deal"......

Is that loyalty rebate properly applied? I thought it goes towards the payments as well as the recent college grad incentive.

I noticed a lot of the deals on here are discounted around 6-7k and some without even having the loyalty bonus.

Well, as inventory gets scarce the advantage swings back to the dealers, so you may not get the 'home run' deal that was available a few weeks ago.

For BMW, we suggest 7% off MSRP before any incentives. Generally, I'd tell you to shop multiple dealers, but I suspect they know they've got the only car you're interested in.

If the $1500 incentive is part of the discount, it's not really that great of a deal.

The doc fee is really high - is this in Florida, by any chance?

    Hello everyone,
Here is one of the deal I have been offered. I am leaning towards grabbing it as supply is running short on 2106 320xi in NJ. let me know what you do think:

    MSRP - 43,695
Selling price - 34,985 (after $1,500 option allowance and $1,000 loyalty bonus)
Net Cap cost - 38,291 ( 34,985 from above + 925 bank fee + 379 doc fee + 402 DMV + 1600 as remaining 5 payments on my Honda accord that they will cut me a check for)
    7 MSDs
Taxes are rolled into the lease
    MF - 0.00067
    Monthly payment - $345
    Down at signing - $345 + 7*$350 = $2795
    thoughts please?

    Which dealer is this?

The MF, I believe is slightly off? .00130 base minus the MSD's.... but otherwise seems good. Great amount off of sticker, particularly the loyalty.

Flemington NJ. apologies I forgot to mention that I got an extra 0.0002 off the base MF before MSD reduction due to corporate fleet discount hence the starting point was 0.000116 minus (7*0.00007) = 0.00067. this is 12k miles/ 36 months

The selling price (including incentives) provides an effective discount of 19.93%, which is excellent. Then, you have $3,306 in fees rolled in.

65% Residual on 36/12k, you're getting the base MF of 0.00136 and marking it down to 0.00067 thanks to 7 MSDs + fleet reduction. My calculation comes out to $319.39 + 7% NJ tax = $341.74 w/ $2,791.74 due at signing. Close enough, and solid deal imo.

Hello. Love the forums and all the great info. Looking for a 2016 328i sedan in Florida. Wondering what the MF and residuals are for 30 and 36 months with 12k miles per year. Also, do you know the current incentives and allowances? Finally, do they offer something like a loyalty credit if coming out of an Audi?

Can you tell me if I'm running the calculations on this right?

    2016 328xi - service loaner 9k miles. In CT, tax rate 6.35%
    msrp: 47,995
    sale price: $36,467.30
    MF: .00087
    Residual: 66%
    7 MSDS
    $0 down
Due at delivery $3127.75 ($2100 MSD + $1027 in fees which are conveyance fee, registration fee, taxes, and 1st month payment).

    Monthly price with tax $295

I've run the numbers and I'm getting $233 a month, and on a separate calculator around $250 a month. Any idea what I'm missing here?

The $1037 includes the $925 Lease Acquisition Fee?

Don't forget the Acquisition fee ($925), registration, first months payment, and any dealer BS fees such as Doc fee.

Also did they include anything else dealer add? such as excess wear and tear, etc?

    Thanks Michaell,

So figured out why our earlier attempts at the numbers failed.
They did not include the $399 etching fee they included in their numbers.

I did have it taken off the final car numbers. Also... they were quoting me 66% residual for 10k miles even though I thought we were talking about the 12k miles.

In the finance office, after a few hours at the dealership waiting for BMW approvals, the f&i manager got approval and gave me the 12k miles per year for the same as 10k miles. So another $360 bucks off, I call it a win.

After chatting and we got friendly, same hobbies.... he did offer me Excess Wear & Tear and Wheel & Tire coverage at cost, $650... which I did take.

After 36k miles, I assume the run flat tires are going to need to be replaced and apparently BMW is a stickler for excessive fees so I figured $650 now is well worth the $1k or more it will cost in tires alone at lease turn in.
