Can you tell me if I'm running the calculations on this right?
2016 328xi - service loaner 9k miles. In CT, tax rate 6.35% msrp: 47,995 sale price: $36,467.30 MF: .00087 Residual: 66% 7 MSDS $0 down Due at delivery $3127.75 ($2100 MSD + $1027 in fees which are conveyance fee, registration fee, taxes, and 1st month payment).
Monthly price with tax $295
I've run the numbers and I'm getting $233 a month, and on a separate calculator around $250 a month. Any idea what I'm missing here?
The 9000 miles means you have to deduct $2250 from the calculated residual:
($47,995 * .66) - 2250 = $29,427
2250 / 36 = $62/mo (which is their $295/mo payment vs your $233/mo calculation)
With less than stellar credit, $283 per month, with first month payment, tags, and 7 MSD of $300 for $2,100. Used to reduce the MF.
12k, 36 months.
Solid deal!
Congrats and enjoy.
Thanks Michaell,
So figured out why our earlier attempts at the numbers failed. They did not include the $399 etching fee they included in their numbers.
I did have it taken off the final car numbers. Also... they were quoting me 66% residual for 10k miles even though I thought we were talking about the 12k miles.
In the finance office, after a few hours at the dealership waiting for BMW approvals, the f&i manager got approval and gave me the 12k miles per year for the same as 10k miles. So another $360 bucks off, I call it a win.
After chatting and we got friendly, same hobbies.... he did offer me Excess Wear & Tear and Wheel & Tire coverage at cost, $650... which I did take.
After 36k miles, I assume the run flat tires are going to need to be replaced and apparently BMW is a stickler for excessive fees so I figured $650 now is well worth the $1k or more it will cost in tires alone at lease turn in.
I guess $18/mo for piece of mind isn't a bad deal.
I agree - if the tires need to be replaced, you've got to put RFTs on them, or you get dinged. Something like $300 per. Tire stores either don't know or don't care about that.

Ah, thanks. Thoughts on the deal here? It's part of a CPO Elite program, it will be fully covered under warranty+maintenance package during the 36mo term, plus if I go over miles significantly I'll be in the CPO warranty so there is no concern of falling outside of warranty. Anything I'm missing or should I bite on this as long as there is no excessive wear/tear on the car?

It's a great price, but don't take a 10K/yr lease, if you know you are going to go over. 12K/yr = 6000 more miles for just $480 or $13/mo. That's just $0.08/mile. 15K/yr = 15000 more miles for $1440 or $39/mo. $0.096/mile.
Those are cheap miles vs. the $0.25/mile they will hit you at lease end.

They didn't really give you the lease information. The Purchase Option doesn't include the acquisition fee, and likely has a tax number that won't be applicable to the lease. Also, they didn't disclose the money factor. You need that information to evaluate their offer.

People are getting off up to 20%, but it is not on the GT models. Those typically have their own programs. Furthermore, dealers only have a few of them, as opposed to the mass produced 320 and 328 sedans.

Just got home from picking up our second 2016 340i. Flew from socal to norcal to pick up one of the few remaining 6 speed manual 340i left in the country. Worth the drive back.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Thank you all for the great information here, it's made the purchase process a great deal easier.
Picked up my 2016 340i last week. As I am prone to transferring my leases 6-18 months before they mature (automotive ADD), we capped all fees so that drive-off was just the first month's payment. Trying to sink as little into the car upfront as possible.
While the last poster's deal on the manual 340i in Norcal is unreal, I'm happy with my deal given that (a) I skipped MSDs, (b) capped all fees, and (c) the selection of leftover 2016 340is in Socal is beginning to dwindle.

I get $338, as well.
Don't know NJ DMV rules, but generally, you pay any fee that you would pay for a purchase.
Don't know if the total amount includes the disposition fee, but you have all the numbers. You should be able to add it up.
Can you please comment on this deal? Suggestions on how to focus my negotiations in order to reduce my monthly payment?
I'm looking at a 2016 340i. MSO car, used with 3845 miles.
One of the rare manuals left so dealer may feel they have some leverage.
Dealer tells me the $1500 option allowance cannot be applied because it's a used car. Is this true? Seems to contradict a previous answer you gave above. Since it is MSO, doesn't this mean it is untitled and therefore qualifies for new vehicle incentives from the factory?

My payment calc is within $1 of that quote, using your numbers.
If the car has not been titled, it is eligible for the new car lease rates and the new car incentives. Dealer just doesn't want to give it to you.
And, the MF is marked up as well.
The fact that this is a stick shift 340i does make it a rare bird, and the dealer knows it. Not sure what leverage you have, if this is the car you want.

I am getting lease deal on bmw 328xi (36/10k)
Msrp 47410
Selling price 39910
Mf 0.000134 (0.00085 with 7 msd )
Residual 63 %
7 msd - 2450
952 sales tax ( NJ @7% )
Upfront includes following
Aqstn - 925
Doc fee - 498
Registration- 400
First month -338 ( tax not applicable as paid upfront )
Upfront:
5526 which includes all fee + msd
1) Getting monthly of 338, zero down, is it correct, can you please confirm numbers ?
2) dealer is asking for title fee, if we lease do we pay title fee or tire fee ?
3) also in lease contract the total amount to be paid by end of lease, does that sum include disposition fee also ? (point 8 , total payment )
Following are details
Total lease - 14,907 ( excluding dispostion 350 )
Don't know NJ DMV rules, but generally, you pay any fee that you would pay for a purchase.
Don't know if the total amount includes the disposition fee, but you have all the numbers. You should be able to add it up.

MSRP is 55895
Sale price 48915
Residual 34377.60
MF .00150
Drive off 2127.32
575.87/ month including tax
10k/36
tax is 9%.
No MSDs
Thank you in advance.

Here's the offer I'm looking at: http://www.bmwusa.com/special-offers/lease.2016-320i-xDrive-Sedan.html?modal=special-offers-legal
Thanks!
BTW, we advise against a cap reduction - that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

MSRP $50,095
Selling price $42,000
MF .00085
Residual 63% (last month was 65% i missed it!)
Monthly payment around $380
Thanks Michaell and kyfx (can't remember how to spell his name lol)
I think I scored a pretty decent deal!
EDIT: I was just checking other people's deals and it seems mine is just lukewarm. On the previous page someone had a higher MSRP but is paying $318/month vs my $380! Damn!
