Can you tell me if I'm running the calculations on this right?

    2016 328xi - service loaner 9k miles. In CT, tax rate 6.35%
    msrp: 47,995
    sale price: $36,467.30
    MF: .00087
    Residual: 66%
    7 MSDS
    $0 down
Due at delivery $3127.75 ($2100 MSD + $1027 in fees which are conveyance fee, registration fee, taxes, and 1st month payment).

    Monthly price with tax $295

I've run the numbers and I'm getting $233 a month, and on a separate calculator around $250 a month. Any idea what I'm missing here?

The 9000 miles means you have to deduct $2250 from the calculated residual:

    ($47,995 * .66) - 2250 = $29,427

    2250 / 36 = $62/mo (which is their $295/mo payment vs your $233/mo calculation)

    Hey guys,

Just picked up my new 2016 BMW 320i XDrive.

    MSRP 36.7
    Selling Price 29.7

With less than stellar credit, $283 per month, with first month payment, tags, and 7 MSD of $300 for $2,100. Used to reduce the MF.

    12k, 36 months.

    Solid deal!

    Congrats and enjoy.
    Thanks Michaell,

So figured out why our earlier attempts at the numbers failed.
They did not include the $399 etching fee they included in their numbers.

I did have it taken off the final car numbers. Also... they were quoting me 66% residual for 10k miles even though I thought we were talking about the 12k miles.

In the finance office, after a few hours at the dealership waiting for BMW approvals, the f&i manager got approval and gave me the 12k miles per year for the same as 10k miles. So another $360 bucks off, I call it a win.

After chatting and we got friendly, same hobbies.... he did offer me Excess Wear & Tear and Wheel & Tire coverage at cost, $650... which I did take.

After 36k miles, I assume the run flat tires are going to need to be replaced and apparently BMW is a stickler for excessive fees so I figured $650 now is well worth the $1k or more it will cost in tires alone at lease turn in.
I guess $18/mo for piece of mind isn't a bad deal.

I agree - if the tires need to be replaced, you've got to put RFTs on them, or you get dinged. Something like $300 per. Tire stores either don't know or don't care about that.

Ah, thanks. Thoughts on the deal here? It's part of a CPO Elite program, it will be fully covered under warranty+maintenance package during the 36mo term, plus if I go over miles significantly I'll be in the CPO warranty so there is no concern of falling outside of warranty. Anything I'm missing or should I bite on this as long as there is no excessive wear/tear on the car?

It's a great price, but don't take a 10K/yr lease, if you know you are going to go over.
    12K/yr = 6000 more miles for just $480 or $13/mo. That's just $0.08/mile.
    15K/yr = 15000 more miles for $1440 or $39/mo. $0.096/mile.

Those are cheap miles vs. the $0.25/mile they will hit you at lease end.

They didn't really give you the lease information.
The Purchase Option doesn't include the acquisition fee, and likely has a tax number that won't be applicable to the lease. Also, they didn't disclose the money factor. You need that information to evaluate their offer.

can someone comment on this lease deal?

    2016 335xi Gran turismo

    MSRP 56,245
    -1000 loyalty credit
    -1500 option allowance
-4,900 dealer discount (roughly 8.71% off MSRP)
    Sale price 48,845

    Additions to cap cost:
    bank fee 925
    doc fee 399
estimated taxes on doc and bank 206
    rolled taxes 1,414
    adjust cap cost 51,789

    MF .00136
    residual 66%

    monthly $489

I'm reading some lease deals ppl have been getting here and it seems some are actually getting 10%-14% off MSRP on top of the -1k loyalty and -1.5k option allowance. Or am I interpreting the numbers wrong?

People are getting off up to 20%, but it is not on the GT models. Those typically have their own programs. Furthermore, dealers only have a few of them, as opposed to the mass produced 320 and 328 sedans.

When I use your numbers, I get $528/mo. Your deal looks pretty strong, by comparison.

My calculations are only a few pennies off from the quote.

I don't know if you can get more off the sticker price. As inventory dwindles, dealers regain a bit of leverage on the selling price. You might want to get multiple dealers involved; the competition between them may get you a bigger discount.

Are we expecting a residual drop in November ? Might offset the expected holiday adder right?

No predictions on what will happen next month.

But - be advised that BMW will eventually end support of leases on 2016 models. Usually without any notice.

I can't see that deal getting any better. Less inventory and it's possible that support won't exist in two months.

Just got home from picking up our second 2016 340i. Flew from socal to norcal to pick up one of the few remaining 6 speed manual 340i left in the country. Worth the drive back.

    MSRP: 57015
    Selling price: 45880
    Acquisition fee: 925
    Lic./Reg fees: 369
Misc fees (tire, transfer, etc): 180
    Rebate tax: 166.40
MF with 7 MSD: 0.00127 (they would not budge from markup)
    Residual: 65%, 36 months, 12k miles

    $1000 Loyalty
    $1000 Graduate
$300 Cap Cost Reduction (I calculated this because I was banking on 0.00087 MF, and this would have made my payments $300.00, but didn't work out because of MF markup)
Total due at signing = $2450 (MSD) + $1375 (lic/reg, misc fees, rebate tax, 300 cap cost red.) = $3825.

    Monthly payment is $334.27.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Thank you all for the great information here, it's made the purchase process a great deal easier.

Picked up my 2016 340i last week. As I am prone to transferring my leases 6-18 months before they mature (automotive ADD), we capped all fees so that drive-off was just the first month's payment. Trying to sink as little into the car upfront as possible.

While the last poster's deal on the manual 340i in Norcal is unreal, I'm happy with my deal given that (a) I skipped MSDs, (b) capped all fees, and (c) the selection of leftover 2016 340is in Socal is beginning to dwindle.

    MSRP: 50345
Dealer Discount: 6000 (includes 1500 option allowance)
    BMWFS Loyalty: 1000
    USAA Incentive: 1000
    Selling Price: 42345

    Acquisition Fee (rolled in): 925
    Lic/Reg Fee (rolled in): 390
    Misc Fees (rolled in): 116

    MF: .00136
    Residual: 65% (36/12k)
    No MSDs

    Monthly Payment pre-tax: 426.93
Monthly Payment plus 9% LA County tax: 465.35
    Total Drive-Off: 465.35

    I get $338, as well.

Don't know NJ DMV rules, but generally, you pay any fee that you would pay for a purchase.

Don't know if the total amount includes the disposition fee, but you have all the numbers. You should be able to add it up.

$338/mo for a $47K BMW looks like a great deal to me.

Can you please comment on this deal?  Suggestions on how to focus my negotiations in order to reduce my monthly payment?

    I'm looking at a 2016 340i. MSO car, used with 3845 miles.

One of the rare manuals left  so dealer may feel they have some leverage.

Dealer tells me the $1500 option allowance cannot be applied because it's a used car. Is this true? Seems to contradict a previous answer you gave above. Since it is MSO,  doesn't this mean it is untitled and therefore qualifies for new vehicle incentives from the factory?

    MSRP is 55895

    Sale price 48915

    Residual 34377.60

    MF .00150

    Drive off 2127.32

    575.87/ month including tax

    10k/36

    tax is 9%.

    No MSDs

     Thank you in advance.

My payment calc is within $1 of that quote, using your numbers.

If the car has not been titled, it is eligible for the new car lease rates and the new car incentives. Dealer just doesn't want to give it to you.

And, the MF is marked up as well.

The fact that this is a stick shift 340i does make it a rare bird, and the dealer knows it. Not sure what leverage you have, if this is the car you want.

Looking at the lease offer for the 2016 320i xdrive, its $269/mo, 2750 cap reduction via down payment, 63% residual on a 36/10k lease. Doing the math, I am getting a MF lower thank .00134. Am I missing something in my calculation?

    Here's the offer I'm looking at: http://www.bmwusa.com/special-offers/lease.2016-320i-xDrive-Sedan.html?modal=special-offers-legal

    Thanks!

There is likely a dealer contribution (aka discount from sticker) that isn't disclosed. That will mess up your calculations.

BTW, we advise against a cap reduction - that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

    I just leased a 2016 328i xDrive

    MSRP $50,095
    Selling price $42,000
    MF .00085
Residual 63% (last month was 65% i missed it!)

    Monthly payment around $380

Thanks Michaell and kyfx (can't remember how to spell his name lol)
I think I scored a pretty decent deal!

EDIT: I was just checking other people's deals and it seems mine is just lukewarm. On the previous page someone had a higher MSRP but is paying $318/month vs my $380! Damn!

I was told by a local dealer that the residuals and incentives have been set and are the same for November and December. Can anyone verify this? Debating if I should wait and see if residuals come back up for December. Thanks in advance!
