May I have your thoughts on a new 2017 X3 in California?
    MSRP 53645
    Selling price: did not disclose
    36/12k
    Monthly 524 tax included
    1500 due at signing

    thank you

Looks like a good payment relative to MSRP. But, details would help.
Is it new, or a service loaner?

New. But will have 200 miles on it from dealer trade. He said the trade will be by driver instead of by truck. He won’t disclose the location as well. :(

Hello! I got quoted $570 with $1500 down for a 2017 x3 6-cylinder service loaner (3200 miles) with pano roof, all bells & whistles except Navi.  This is including all taxes, fees & extended coverage.  The MSRP for the car is $49,500.  What do you think of this deal? I’m would really appreciate any feedback! 63% residual in Southern CA.

    Thank you!

200 miles is nothing. He won't tell you where it's coming from, because you might go get it there. I can't blame them for that.

    That's a really good price.

Are you sure it's the six cylinder? X3 3.5? Because that's a really low MSRP for that model. If it's a six cylinder, it's definitely missing a lot of bells/whistles to come in that low.

If it's as you describe, that might be a hard unit to sell. Most 3.5 models have MSRPs north of $55K. While your price is fair, you might be able to do better.

Do you have the selling price or adjusted CAP cost?
Are you sure the MSRP is $49,500, or is that the selling price?

That's a six cylinder, but it's far from "loaded". In fact, I'm not sure it has any options (although the six cylinder model comes standard with more equipment than the four cylinder. From that standpoint, it's well-equipped).

Nothing wrong with that. It has plenty of stuff.
What kind of extended coverage do you need on a 3yr/36K lease?

To get to your payment, assuming 9.5% tax rate, the adjusted CAP would have to be $45,100

Considering the $1000 lease credit and the $1500 upfront, looking at a selling price of about $45,600, I think.
Around $4000 off MSRP isn't that great, considering that it's a demo, and the mileage reduces the residual by $800.

While it's a pretty good payment, relative to the MSRP, I think you might be able to do better. If it was me, I'd ask for $500/mo, with the same $1500 due at signing.
That would be an additional discount from MSRP of $2200.

They might not go for it, or they may meet you somewhere in the middle. Either way, I think you can get by for less. Without all of the details, I'm estimating a lot of numbers. For instance, I'm not sure what sort of extended warranties or insurance policies that are included.

Hi - wanted to see if you could offer any insight into what I might be missing on a difference between a quote and numbers I get from various lease calculators.

I'm looking at a loaner 2017 x3 35. MSRP 56445. Dealer is offering a discounted price of 45900. They've confirmed they're using the standard .00152 MF. There's around 4300 miles on the loaner. I should have a tax rate of 7.25 percent on the monthly payment where I live.

Dealer is quoting 525 month, 0 down, only first payment and title, license fees up front on a 36/10k lease. My attempts to plug those figures into a couple of different calculators come up with monthlies in the 480-490 range. 525's not an awful price to lease that car at, and the dealer has been very responsive and transparent so far, so I don't want to challenge blindly, but can you think of anything I'm missing in my calculations that would account for that ~40/month difference?

    Thanks!

The selling price and the adjusted cap cost used to calculate the payment may not be the same. If they are different, ask the dealer what they've added to the selling price.

Did you reduce the residual to account for the current mileage?
4300 miles reduces the residual by $1075.
So, instead of entering 64% for the residual, enter 62.1%

Thanks to both for answering. Sounds like the rebate available on a lease was $1000 less than what was quoted as a sales price, or so they're saying, so with that plugged in I can match their monthly quote within a few $. Still considering since it would be hard to lease that model in that price range under most circumstances - maybe I'll consider it slowly in the next week leading up to year end and see if the dealer's discount slides down even more.

    It looks good, either way.

Lease pros: Really high residual, makes for a low, low payment.
Lease cons: With the really high residual, you won't buy it at the end of three years, because it won't be worth it.

Purchase pros: Extra $1000 incentive over lease, plus avoiding $925 lease acquisition fee. Get to keep the vehicle as long as you want.
Purchase cons: Much, much higher payment. Over $800/mo, with 3.24% APR financing for 60 months on $45K.

If it's me, I grab the $500/mo. lease. You'll probably save money in the long run. Just know that you'll have to find another vehicle in 3 years. Other than lacking AWD, that one is equipped about the same as my wife's 2017.

    Enjoying reading your posts!

Recently received letter from dealer to get out of 5 series lease early and into new 5 series lease. Offering $4K lease loyalty credit (a factory to dealer incentive) & $4k preferred customer bonus with 'super elite FICO' We are actually looking at X3 SUV instead of sedan.

Can you tell me MF & residual for 10K/year (or 7,500) numbers for SW Florida on 2017 & 2018 X3 28i 6 cyl? How much should we try to negotiate off MSRP before subtracting any rebates, incentives,...... Also, what about any other manufacturer rebates/incentives? If leased car is previous loaner or has miles, how should we go about negotiating lease? Any other words of wisdom to negotiate good lease would be appreciated.

    2017 - .00152 and 64% for 36/10; no 7500 allowance for the X3
    $1000 lease cash

The residual will be altered depending on how many miles the demo unit has.

We suggest 7% off sticker price

Just signed a 2017 X3 lease deal today. New car with 300 miles on it. I'm in TX and they gave the full tax credit. So that is a big help!

Monthly payment is $312 with $750 drive off (including first month payment). Here is the breakdown :

    MSRP $48095
    Dealer Discount: $6093
BMW Rebates: $5000 (Road Home Sales Event). I'm not qualified for loyalty or corporate, otherwise would make it even better
    Selling Price: $37002
Money Factor: 0.00192 (the MF should be 0.00152, but I was tired of negotiating more and feel the monthly payment is low enough to make the deal)
    Residual Value: 70%
    Term: 24 Months
    10K miles per year

Congrats. We bought our 2017 service loaner in September, when they had 0%/72 months. Almost did a single pay lease, but my wife's driving has ramped up, and I was worried about getting under 15K/yr. Sure enough, in 3 months, she is averaging 1700 miles/month, so I'm really glad we bought it.

    Offering at
    Down 5390.42
    Monthly $337 24months, 10k mi/yr
He didn't tell me MF, mentioned residual was 34000
I'm trying to figure out if it's reasonable.

    .00152 MF and 70% residual
The residual will be reduced, depending on the existing mileage on the vehicle.
Depending on the mileage, the vehicle may be eligible for new car rebates.

Big down payments tend to make short term leases look cheaper than 36 month term., but they usually aren't.

That said, this could be a good deal, that might be made better by going with 36 months.
What is the mileage on this unit?

    Hello,

Can someone please tell me the current numbers on a 2017 X3 at 36 months and 10k miles? Any end of the year incentives for December for BMW to unload these 17’s?

    About 3k miles but it’s a demo/loaner car.
    36 months would be 387/mo
    Appreciate the advice.

Given those numbers, your average monthly cost for 24 months is $547/mo.
    For 36 months, it's $526/mo.
That's amortizing the upfront amount over the life of the lease.

If the car has 3000 miles, the residual is reduced by $750.

Either deal is good, but I wouldn't put that much money upfront on a lease. I'd rather have the bigger payment, and a lot less upfront.

What is the money factor, residual for a lease in Utah, for 10k/36mo.
And do they offer 7.5k/36 mo (I'm hoping for few miles &/or fewer months since I'm a low mileage driver).

    2018 BMW X3 M40i well equipped, MSRP of $65,970.

    MSRP discounts and credits:
    $1,500 loyalty credit
    $1,500 USAA credit
Plus, i'm hoping to get more off the MSRP, since the offers on bmwusa.com right now for the X3 M40i are discounting MSRP by 6.24%, to $61,853
The above three credits and discount should bring MSRP down to adjusted cap of $58,853

    Thanks!

A dealer in NJ gave me the below offer for the 2018 X3
    MSRP - 50,945
Dealer discount and rebate - 5245
    Price after rebate 45,700
    24 month 10K/yr lease
    2500 down - monthly payment 828.54
    3500 down - monthly payment 783.20
    4500 down - monthly payment 737.85
    5500 down - monthly payment 692.51
    Residual 32,604.8

He also mentioned that there is a rebate of 1500$ that he has applied and he's willing to pay off 2000$ left on my current BMW

Looks a lot more expensive but not sure where the numbers are going wrong and what i need to work out with the dealer. He didn't provide the MF or any other details in the first meeting.

Any comments on what i can bargain ?

First.. stick to 36 month leases. This vehicle does not lease well for 24 months.

Keep your upfront money to just first payment and DMV/dealer fees. That makes it easier to compare offers.
Get those details - money factor, residual, selling price and adjusted CAP cost. Without the details, you won't know where the deal is going wrong.

Selling price and residual values have been given. The missing part is MF and CAP cost. I have always done 2 yrs leases so far, hence was looking for a 2 yrs one.. i guess i'll have to look for another brand if it doesn't fall within range. Do you know what is the range of MF's being offered in NJ? I got the lowest MF when i got the BMW X1 on my previous lease.

Good morning. I’m looking at a new 2017 x3 in FL. It has 3800 miles as a demo unit. What is the MF and RV on a 36 mo / 12k mile lease? I understand I would also subtract $.25 per mile for 3,300 miles from the RV. Correct? Any incentives? Thanks!

    .00152 MF and 63% residual
$825 residual reduction to account for the current mileage.
    $1000 lease credit.

If interested, this is the month to grab one of these loaners. Lease program might go away soon, and you'll never match that high residual, again.

You don't want to put money down on a lease - it masks the true cost and the money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

The payment would depend on the MSRP and negotiated selling price.
