7% off sticker is a good discount, but limit your out of pocket to just the first payment and DMV costs.

What is the most current MF and residuals for a 2017 330i for 36 months and 10k/12k/15k miles? Also, is 2018 series 3 coming soon, and if so, when?

    .00151 and 62% / 61% / 59%

There is a 2018 3-series lease thread already in place:

This is the offer I am getting. I am not very happy with it. Dealer said he won't drop the MF from .0019 since they have already given so many rebates. Any advice or opinion? Thanks.

Yeah, the discount is kind of weak (5.5%) - you want to target 7% off.

The comment about the rebates is bunk - that's not the dealers money, that is BMW Corporate.

And, the MF markup is adding about $30/mo to the payment.

Politely tell them you won't sign a deal where the MF is inflated.

Thank you for the quick response. Can you tell what rebates he gave? I was a little confused and he made it seem as if he was giving up a lot.

Hello - This is the quote I received for 2017 330i with term 36mo, 15K miles with MSRP $47,575. I am in SoCal region. Do you think this is a fair offer? Seems like he is charging me a 9.25% sales tax rate!

Also, it seems to me this quote is for $0 customer cash down. Am I correct?

    Thanks!

Looks like the $2500 lease cash is what is shown on the form.

The math is correct on that worksheet.

    CA taxes the monthly payment.

And, that deal expects you to write a check of $2248 to the dealer. Hardly $0 up front.

I'd suggest you restructure the deal to pay only the first payment and DMV costs, and roll the acquisition fee of $925 into the lease. Skip the cap reduction, too.

They structured the deal this way so that the payment would be under $500/mo.

Thanks for the quick response Michaell. That way i will save on cap red tax as well. Do you think the discount is good enough? The selling price is $43300 from $47575 MSRP.

On another note, is Lease End Protection (approx $1200) worth it?

9% discount from sticker is pretty good for BMW.

Skip the lease end protection - it's a good deal for the dealer only.

We suggest you only cover the first payment and DMV costs up front - use the trade equity to handle those items, but get a check back for whatever is left.

Roll the taxes and fees into the payment; ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost with those items added in.

Your money factor is marked up from .00151.
Taxes in CA are assessed on the monthly payment, not collected upfront.
No mention of the $925 acquisition fee.

Basically, the numbers given are for a purchase. Other than the disclosure of money factor and residual, you don't have numbers specific to a lease.
The fees given are typical for CA.

    Hey,

Was wondering what the MF/Residual was for a 2017 330i 36/12 in August 2017? Looking at a 330i at MSRP $51,045 (Premium + Nav + Drivers Assistance + Msport). Since they're probably trying to dump these 2017's, am hoping to get 10% off, and then use my $3,250 3 series loyalty offer and $3000 preferred customer incentives (they can be stacked). That should put me at a selling price of around $40k correct? What should my monthly payments be in CA on 36/12 with $0 down? And how about with 7 MSDs?

If all this works out I'm guessing it would be:

    MSRP: 51k
    Residual (62%): 31.6k
    Adjusted Cap: ~$41k
    MF: 0.00126

    Monthly Payment: $261 ((41k - 31.6k)/36)
    Interest: $91 (41k + 31.6k)*(0.00126)
    Tax: 28 (8%)

Total = 380 (will probably put $1000 down for extended wear & tear to use towards tire replacement credits since it is the M sport)

Is this what I should target? I also have the opportunity to upgrade 7 months early on my current lease and they are waiving the disposition fee too.

    Thanks!

    .00151 MF and 61% residual for 36/12.
    BMWFS no longer offers MSDs.

I'm not familiar with the incentives you quote. Seems a little unrealistic, but let us know what happens.

well it looks like the $3250 is factory incentive, but the $3k is a dealer incentive.. obviously will push for a higher dealer incentive, but the $3250 will come off after our negotiated price.. probably looking around $43k and using these numbers should i expect something around

    330 monthly
    111 interest
    35 taxes

total of $476 / month. Would this be a good target to shoot for? and will still let him upsell me on the 1000 down for excessive wear and tear in return for the ~10% dealer discount

Subtracting $6250 from MSRP and adding $925 acquisition fee, I get $520/mo+tax, with first payment and DMV/doc due at signing.

Shouldn't I be targeting more than 3k (6%) dealer discount on a 2017 car though? Or since I'm stacking with a factory incentive they probably won't give me more than that?

Hi, what are the August numbers for 330e, 24 month, 12k miles a year? Current incentives include the iperformance incentive, correct?

is the federal rebate normally included in the cap cost reduction, or as a separate rebate?

I'm seeing too many 2017's on these lots (literally 6 BMW dealerships within 50 miles), and a lot of them are already marked down 10%. For those that aren't mark down, I should target more than 7% still right?

    Loyalty Discount: 750

Does these numbers make sense? Is it a good deal?

    What is the MSRP?
Exactly how many miles are on it?
    MSRP - $39793
    Actual Mileage 3885

well it looks like the $3250 is factory incentive, but the $3k is a dealer incentive.. obviously will push for a higher dealer incentive, but the $3250 will come off after our negotiated price.. probably looking around $43k and using these numbers should i expect something around

You should target 7% off sticker before applying any incentives.
I'm seeing too many 2017's on these lots (literally 6 BMW dealerships within 50 miles), and a lot of them are already marked down 10%. For those that aren't mark down, I should target more than 7% still right?

If they are already marked down more than 7%, all the better.

Yes, 7% for those that aren't already discounted.

For some reason on my quote they had 60% residual for 330i 2017 on 36/12... does adding msport reduce it by 1%? Anyway not concerned as I got for 11% off $50,225 msrp, 0.00151 MF, $3250 of early trade in loyalty incentive. 8.5% sales tax

Total monthly at $530 (includes $925 acquisition rolled in), total drive off of $1100 (first month payment plus license, reg, doc process and tax on cost reduction.)

they were pretty close to my numbers am wondering the general consensus on this deal?

    .00151 and 59%

What is the adjusted cap cost, if you are adding the fees into the lease payment?

With your stated prices, $637/mo with tax included

    I just received a quote for a 340i
NAV, Driver Assist, Sport Package, CarPlay, Heated front seats
Vehicle price 54,995, discounted to $48,290. Add $3500 for taxes, tag and doc
    Texas tax is 6.25%
    OTD $51,783
Lease 36 mo, 15k/yr $812/mo with 750 due at signing
    I was told the MF = 0.00191, RV=59%
I can't get the math to work

With the jacked up money factor, I get $698 mo.
Don't see the $925 acquisition fee in there.. but, that would only take it up to $725/mo.

Ask for the adjusted CAP cost that goes with that lease payment quote, and see how it differs from what you've been told. Base MF would take payment down by $34/mo.

The dealer said something to the effect that they have to collect sales tax based on the discounted price and in addition, the monthly lease payment is also taxed. Seems strange to me that the state double taxes leases. Perhaps it is because Texas doesn't have property tax on vehicles.

What's the likelihood that the dealer would provide an itemized list of all the numbers? ... similar to what I would see on a lease contract ?

I used to live in NC and leased six cars over the past 15 years. I don't remember it being so complicated.

Dealer is half right - in Texas, sales tax is assessed against the negotiated price of the vehicle. You can pay that amount up front, or you can add it to the negotiated price and have it become part of the monthly payment.

There is no tax assessed on the monthly payment.

I called a different dealer looking to make sense of how a lease works in Texas.
    A different 340i, different offer:
    Retail Price 62,510
    Disc: 5,000
    Selling Price 57,510
    Taxes 3,715.55
    Doc fee 149
    E-Tag fee 5
    Title 33
    Title conv fee 11
    No trade
    Balance (57,510+3,715.55+149+5+33+11) = 61,423.55

    36 month lease @ 12k/year, Residual noted at 38,131.10
$1,207 down, Monthly payments would be $855.16
$2,500 down, Monthly payments would be $815.59
$5,000 down, Monthly payments would be $739.10

Is there a calculator that I can download that reflects and helps explain how to arrive at these numbers?
