msrp is 50,000, trading in a Toyota worth 4k. dealer wants down payment and tax +fees.
Then the monthly lease would be $400. is it worth it or is there a lower price possible.

You have to come up with more money, besides the $4000 trade?
To take a guess, we need the exact MSRP and adjusted CAP cost.
    Term/mileage?
    State/tax rate?
How much out of your pocket, besides the trade?
    2017 330i X-drive
    msrp is $50,805
terms: 36 months / 10k miles per year (30k miles total)
    NY State (8.875%) tax
$3000 down payment (trying to not have to pay this)***
*i dont know what adj CAP cost is...
    acquistion fee $925
    $4000 trade in value

    dealer wants $400 per month.
would this be a good deal?

    your help is much appreciated!

The adjusted cap cost is the selling price, plus any taxes or fees you don't pay up front, less any cap reduction (aka down payment).

The $4000 of trade equity equates to over $100/mo. And the $3000 the dealer is asking for is another $83/mo.

This makes your true monthly payment closer to $600/mo than $400/mo.

    Hi there,

I am looking for 340i xDrive 2017 model for 36 months lease & 10,000 miles per year. I currently have 2011 BMW 335i xdrive having 68000 miles on it. Dealer is giving $13,000 for trade in. I got the following rates for lease after including the trade-in value:

    MSRP: $59,545
Per month lease cost: $500 per month
    Lease term: 36 months / 10k miles
Total taxes: $3453 (Including acquisition fee $925, DMV fee $411, Sales tax $976, Dealership fee $425, first month payment $500 etc )

Is it a good deal after trade in ?

Zero down. Only thing i have to pay is first month payment, taxes and fees. They give me the option to pay taxes and fees in installment as well. If i do that, then i will have to pay $600 every month & $600 upfront only. ($600 & key for key)
Yes, i currently owe $12,800 on the car (Financed)
    Tax rate is NJ.

Okay... so, basically the trade-in is a wash.

    $600 upfront and $600/mo? That's a good deal.

Thanks for the update @kyfdx . I was having doubt on the deal so i declined it. I also saw that you have 2006 BMW 330i coupe & i was wondering if BMW cars have long life without heavy maintenance. There is nothing wrong with my car but i heard from so many people that they will start giving issues once they cross 70k 80k miles. Based on your experience, is it true to some extent or not at all ?

My '06 is a different vehicle than your 2011. It's the last year of the '00-'06 coupe (E46). It's been reliable and relatively inexpensive to keep running. (110K miles) I've heard that the later 3-Series are more expensive to maintain/repair, but I don't have any experience with them.

If your car was paid off, I'd say keep going with it, but if you still have to make payments, then a new lease is probably going to be cheaper, over the next three years than going forward with your car. But, the lease numbers are the same this month, as last month. You should be able to go back and get that deal, if you want it.

Here is what I am being offered:

    Price: $311 Per Month
    Term: 36 Months
    Mileage: 15K Miles per Month
    MF: 0.00152
    Down payment: $2750
    Acq Fee: $925
    Taxes: $1300

Total Down payment with taxes (Acq Fee, Govt Fee and Doc Fee) upfront and First Month Payment: $5274

What is the MSRP and selling price?

    What state is this?

We do not recommend so much money up front - just first payment and registration costs. Everything else could be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.
    MSRP: $39,650.00
    Selling Price: $38,650
    State: OH

Is it better to get the taxes rolled into the payment then?
Yes, roll the taxes into the payment.

And, you want to target 7% off the MSRP, before incentives, as your selling price.
    Rolling Taxes into the payment

Monthly Payment now will be : $350
    Down Payment: $2750
    Acq Fee: $925

I just have not been able to find any lease deal with no down payment.
Is this deal still worth doing ?

Any lease deal can be with no downpayment. They only ask for the money upfront to make the monthly payment seem cheaper. Just tell them you only want to pay $1000 upfront, period. Of course, your payment will be higher.

    3 yr/12k miles
    MSRP: 47,745
    Residual: 56% 25,088.70
    Money factor: 0.00180
    Selling price: 35,945
    Capped fees: 925
    Adjusted cap cost: 36,870

    3 yr/12k miles
    MSRP: 47,745
    Residual: 56% 25,088.70
    Money factor: 0.00180
    Selling price: 35,945
    Capped fees: 925
    Adjusted cap cost: 36,870
    Monthly payment: 479.38 ($0 down)

The car is located in Southern California. Is this good, or could I do a bit better? I'm new to leasing so any input would be appreciated!

With 7000 miles, the standard residual of 60% is reduced by 4%, then .25 for each mile.

The MF is marked up from the base of .00152.

I get $424/mo plus tax using the base MF.

Do you have lease numbers (MF & resid) for 330i xDrive? 36/10 & 36/12. Located at 60076. Are there any incentives available?

Looking to lease a loaner 320 xDrive with 2000 miles on it. 36months/12K

    MSRP is 46000
    Offered Price is 39660
    Fees: 800
    Rebates: $3000
    Residual: $27140

    with $2000 down

    Quoted monthly is $416.
They also want to charge $400 for transferring the 3 years 30K maintenance warranty.

Does that seem like a fair deal?

What is the current MF and Residual in CT?

    .00152 and 60%; $3000 lease credit.

There will be a $500 deduction from the calculated residual, due to the miles.

I get $450/mo, before tax, with those prices.

How much of the $2000 up front is going to cap reduction?

I'm not sure. They didn't break that down on the print out. So if it is really $419 before taxes then it's a good deal, correct?

What about the $400 transfer fee for the maintenance. Is that legit?

Could you please provide me with the residual and the MF for a 2017 330e? 37212, 36/10. Also, how is the residual affected by the car being a loaner? It's under 5,000 miles, so I don't believe it gets the 4% hit, but should get a cents per mile adjustment. Thank you.

I bought a service loaner last month, and since I was the first titled owner, the maintenance was included. I'd question them on that.

When you consider the upfront money, your actual cost is about $500/mo.
That's too much for a service loaner.
9% discount off MSRP is not enough.
For comparison, I bought a service loaner last month with 4400 miles, and my discount from MSRP, before rebates was 15% off MSRP, and my financing wasn't marked up like yours is.

At a minimum, I'd want that same payment with just $1200 due at signing.

What’s a good rule of thumb for % off the MSRP? I’m interested in a 2017 330i with an MSRP 48,840 and a current selling price of 43,711. The dealer seems unwilling to budge on this price. For context this is a loaner car with 4K miles, premium package, navigation, upgraded 18” rims, heated front seats. Thanks.

That is 10.5% off sticker; read back through the last few pages of this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.
