Is this a good deal or should I try negotiating more? I dont have the exact break down of all the numbers but its closer to the $523 a month that you calculated with paying $3125 upfront.
    MF .00041/MF 57%
$2000 out the door including first months payment.
    $569 a month including tax

The $1100 you are rolling into the lease translates to about $28/mo - $552/mo. And that's before rent charge and tax are factored into the payment.

So, pretty close to the dealer quote.

Thank you Michael for all your help. Do these numbers look correct? I was going to finalize the deal on a slightly different q60 red sport with less dealer accessories today but wanted someone to check it.
    MSRP-54,455
    RV-57%/Lease End value 31,039.35
    MF-.00041
    CapCost-48925.50
    Dealer Added Accessories-599
    Cash Cap Reduction 15.68
Adjusted Cap Cost 50,208.82- Not sure why this is 1283.32 higher than the cap cost?
    Total Sales tax 1,761.81
    Total Upfront Fees 964
    Fees in cap cost 700
    Doc/Acq Upfront 449
Total Monthly Payment including tax 569.97
    First Payment due 3/29/17-?
    Amount due 2,000

I get $567.35 with 8.1% tax included, using those figures.

    Pretty close.

You'll have to talk to the dealer about the $1200 difference in prices.

    Hi,

Are the March numbers out yet? I'm looking to do a 39/12 lease on a Red Sport 400 AWD in Ohio (though the dealer I'm currently negotiating with is in Michigan). Was told the numbers for March didn't change from Feb. Want to make sure that is the case.

I didn't ask for a break down, I forget things when i talk to the dealers lol. However is that $586 monthly with an initial payment of $5000? i sent the quote to another dealer and they quoted me 5k+plate w/ $529 monthly on a $58k MSRP model. I guess i'll send my dealer the quote to see if he can beat it, and ask for a specific break down.

Say if i put $0 down and roll everything into monthly payments, what would the payment be with the above MSRP and sale price.

    Thanks in advance.

The payment I quoted is based on the figures you gave me. I did not factor in the $5000 in any way.

Don't negotiate the payment, negotiate the price, and make sure you understand the up front monies and that the MF isn't marked up.

I see! Thank you! I flipped through the first few pages and found out how to calculate payments with mf and residual from a comment.
Monthly depreciation charge is (Sale price - MSRP*residual)/39(term)
    finance charge is (sale price+MSRP*residual)*mf/39
Then add those 2 together for total monthly. and since right now mf is so low finance charge is pretty much nothing.
and then initial pymt if 0 down is tax(4% of depreciation)+all the fees+first month.
    am i correct?
Sorry i'm new with the lease stuff.

Tax in NY is the sum of the payments X sales tax rate. I'm pretty sure it's not 4%, though.

You may want to shop around a bit - I just finalized a deal for a Q60 Red Sport AWD with a 60k MSRP and 2k down for 570/month. I was able to negotiate around 11 percent off MSRP. Try to get them to come down on the sale price or get quotes from other dealers in your general area.

Wow 11% is nice, so the 2k down is your out of pocket total or is it cap reduction. I closed the deal today for 58k MSRP q60 RS AWD iridium blue on gallery white for $550/month, $0 down, but i pay tax and fees up front. a 8% off MSRP so good enough for me. I think, unless I'm completely out of my mind and did the calculation entirely wrong..

The 2k is my out of pocket total. Whatever is left after fees, first payment, etc. is going to the cap cost reduction. I normally don't put a ton of money down on a lease because (god forbid) if something happens to the car and it's totaled, you're out that money. I just do enough to keep the payments within reason.

8 percent off MSRP is pretty good! That should end up putting it a bit under invoice. Also, that's a wicked color combination. I went with Dynamic Sunstone w/ graphite. I love that blue, but I've had so many blue cars, I wanted something different.

    Enjoy your new ride!

Hi, just came by from a dealer today. They gave me a quote of Q60 2.0T Premium with premium plus package and driver assistance package.

    Here is the detail:
    MSRP: 46500
    Discount: -3000
    Selling Price: 43500
    Accessories: 995
    Tax on collected items: 7
    Total Cap: 44502

    Base payment: 603.28
    tax: 52.79
    total monthly payment: 656.07

    Document Prep fee: 80
    License: 411
    Tire: 8.25
    Acquisition fee: 700
    1st payment: 656.07
    Due on delivery: 1855.32

    MF: 0.002
    Miles: 12000
    RV: 57%

I think they mark the MF up and not enough for the discount, what do you guys think? Which area I should focus on?

Yeah - it's a pretty fantastic deal! I just shopped around my area and got quotes from many different dealers and such. It's a 39/12 lease. I'm in Ohio and my sales tax is 6.75 percent.

A money factor of .002 comes out to 4.8 percent interest rate, which is insanely high. My money factor was .00024, which is roughly 0.57 percent interest. How is your credit score? If it's good, then yeah - they are ripping you off with that money factor.

You could probably also get them to come down on the price a bit more as well. 3k off is about 6.4 percent off MSRP. I'd try to get them to at least 8-9 percent under MSRP or more. Do you have any other dealers in your area you could get a quote from? The easiest way to get what you want on a deal is to get multiple dealers fighting for your business.

Thanks so much for your info! I'm in the tier 1 credit score, I don't know how the dealer gave me the 4.8%APR. Seems there's plenty of room to negotiate, I'll focus on the discount and money factor.

    Thanks again.

Hi Michaell, It's RWD and 39 months, the dealer says 39 months is best for the APR. Thanks.

    .00025 MF and 57% residual

With that CAP and the money factor you were given, I get $603/mo+tax, as well.
I don't know if a $3000 discount is good (I'll guess it isn't), but you are also being charged $995 for accessories. What's that for? Accessories aren't residualized, so those are adding $28/mo.+tax to your deal.

Using the base MF of .00025 would lower the payment to $479/mo.+tax.
Ask the dealer about the money factor, or just find another Infiniti dealer. That shouldn't be too hard in California.

.00024 MF and 61% residual. 39 month residual is 55%
Thank you @kyfxd. Would you be able to share the MSD info as well?
Infiniti allows up to 9 MSDs at a discount of .00010 to the money factor for each one. But, with an MF of .00024, you'd only be able to make two MSDs, bringing the MF down to .00004
Hi @kyfdx. May I have the March lease numbers for this please? Thanks in advance!

Looking for MF and residual on a Q60 RS 400 - 39/10 and making max MSD's. Also, generally speaking, what % off of MSRP should I be using as a starting point on negotiations? Thanks!
