I'm thinking about purchasing the 2017 Volvo S60, inscription FWD. The msrp is about $40k, and the salesperson keeps promising me a good monthly payment. What's a good monthly payment?? Ps. This is a loaner car with 4000 miles already on it, but it's still eligible for lease. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!!

Thank you for the prompt response!! This is for a 36 month lease with 15000 miles per year in the Cleveland, Ohio market (44146). It would be great if you could tell me the residual value, money factor, and current incentives for a 36/15 and a 24/15, 2017 S60 FWD Inscription.
Additionally, I guess I'm just wondering how much of a discount is common on a "new" car with 4000 miles. The price tools don't help with this specific situation. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Ok, thank you for the response and information. Is this deal accurate?? They're offering a money factor of 0.00031, is that better or worse than 0.00001?? Additionally, none of the rebates are reflected on the deal. Is that common?? Thanks again!!

.00031 is higher than .00001, so that deal is worse.
Politely respond by saying you won't sign a deal where the MF is inflated.
@loncherie99 Not intimately familiar with how Volvo handles demo leases. In this case, it looks like the dealer gets all the incentives, and it's passed along to you with a big discount. On the plus side, this means you aren't paying sales tax on rebates.
Your discount is about $13,200. This car has $8700 of incentives. But, you are losing $940 to a lower residual, due to existing mileage. That takes your effective discount (assuming the car was new) down to about $3500, after subtracting incentives and residual reduction. That seems pretty decent, except they are marking up the acquisition fee (base $695, $995 charged), and bumping the money factor up from .00001 to .00031. (adds about $16/mo.). Those two finance office bumps add about $875 to your deal.
I feel like this is about $25/mo. higher than I would be happy with.
With ZERO out of pocket, I would shoot for $400/mo. even.
That spreadsheet confuses the hell out of me. $28k gross cap cost minus $3229 in cap cost reduction equals $28k cap cost? Huh?? and where does $429 come from when the sheet shows $368? I would say taxes but there is a line item for nearly $1k in tax in the gross cap cost.

The amounts listed aren't added in a linear fashion. The $1229 CAP reduction is what's left out of the $2000, after paying upfront amounts. (1st payment, doc fee, other fees, etc) The Gross CAP doesn't include the CAPPED taxes. So, the Net CAP adds the CAPPED taxes, then subtracts the $1229 to get the Net Cap cost.
The screenshot is with $2000 out of customer pocket and $368.76/mo. The $429/mo is with ZERO out of pocket ($60/mo. more, instead of $2000 upfront)

Thanks for quick response on the weekend. Dealer gave 0.00016 mf. Is mf negotiable? Also, sale price is invoice price. Anybody getting price lower than invoice on 17 models?

Yes, MF is negotiable.
But, don't negotiate. Simply tell them that you won't sign a deal unless the base MF is used. They know what the rate is.

That's what my information shows me ....
I don't see an R-Design Platinum
Interesting... I don't see a single 2017 R-design without a Platinum package at over 20 dealers I looked - I think Volvo stopped offering BASE R-design after MY2016. Which would explain why you see only one listing for R-design - they are all Platinum for MY2017. The only other trim that is still offered with or without Platinum package is Inscription - maybe that is the one listed simply as "Platinum" on your end?.

Hi all-
Can you tell me if this sounds ok?
2017 S60 inscription fwd- msrp $40,020
15k/ 36 mo
Includes $995 excess wear and tear
$2400 down
$380 a month which includes 7% monthly usage tax In zip 33179
Don't have exact numbers yet- they want me to come in. I don't want to unless it's decent. Do you think there's more wiggle room?
Thanks!
.00001 and 40%, with $8700 of lease incentives.
What is the adjusted cap cost? Ask for the breakdown of the $2400, as well.
I wouldn't put up so much money when you sign the papers, and I would also skip the wear and tear.
Thanks! That is the residual and MF they are giving me. I am getting the wear and tear as I am really hard on my cars.
28,893.08 Is the adjusted cap cost.
$2400 is the number I gave them for cash I wanted to put down.
I get $383/mo with tax using those prices; pretty close to your quote.
In the end, I put $2000 down, including first month payment. They gave me the wear and policy for $825. I walked out paying $385.00 for 36 mo/15k with tax.
Selling price of the car was just about $12k off MSRP.
Thought it was a pretty good deal. Was originally looking at a VW Passat SEL and this came out to less than $5 more per month (VW and Volvo share a dealer). While the Passat actually had a couple more safety features than the Inscription, this is a much nicer car and drives a hell of a lot better.

That's pretty good - the deals I've been seeing on the S60 are almost too good to be believed.
So, I went to Volvo yesterday. We worked on a 2017 Volvo S60 T5 AWD Inscription with 1800 miles (service loaner), MSRP of $44,995, discounted price of $37,995. For a 36/12k lease, I was offered $430 per-month with a total of $1000 due at signing. The price for what the car is (basically fully loaded) was great; however, it was a little out of my budget. We then worked on a 2017 S60 T5 AWD Dynamic with an MSRP of $38,940, discounted price of $29,994 with 4900 miles (service loaner). For a 36/12k lease, I was offered $379 per-month with a total of $1000 due at signing. The salesperson was filling out the buyers order so I could leave a deposit, until I found out this Dynamic trim level did not even come with a backup camera! The salesperson said they could install an aftermarket camera, but the price would go from $379 to $399 and I simply did not think the $20 extra per-month was worth it. I loved the car and felt like I was getting a good deal (if I was willing to swing for the $430 per-month). This also included free maintenance (including wear and tear), NYS inspections, loaners, car-washes, and towing/rescue all through the life of the lease. That offer was exclusive to the dealership. I'm bummed! I guess I'll have to opt for the 2017 Honda CR-V EX-L that I was quoted $379 per-month, 36/12k, 1st month and DMV due at signing. Fell in love with the Volvo, though. Maybe in 3 years! Thanks for your help.

$1500 Volvo allowance
$7200 lease bonus
Demo or service loaner vehicles are tough to price - you could deduct .20 to .50 per mile and see where that gets you with the dealership.
