You can roll it into the lease. We usually recommend only paying non-taxable fees upfront, along with the first payment.

I am looking to lease a 2017 xle highlander. I got two prices from different dealers and would like to know if this is good deal. I am new to leasing and am trying to educate myself to get the best deal. We were comparing basically the same car at both dealers. I am from PA (19464) with tier 1 credit.

I am rolling in about $3.9K of negative equity, but was planning on putting down $3K.

The monthly payment they gave me was around $710 a month with zero down. Using a residual value of what I think I saw was 64%, I get a monthly of $591 not including any fees or taxes. My only assumption is they used the adj cap to calculate residual instead of the MSRP which would give me a payment of $686 not including fees or taxes. Is my thinking right or is there something I may not be accounting for ie NV taxes?

36/12 for XLE AWD is 64% and .00225 in PA.

Using the MSRP and net cap from your deals, I get $482/mo for dealer 1, and $483/mo for dealer 2 (assuming 9% sales tax).

Ask for the "adjusted" cap cost for each vehicle - that might help explain the difference. Junk fees?

Does the adjusted cap include the negative equity?

Plugging your prices in, I get $418/mo before tax. $3900 negative equity takes the pre-tax payment to $535/mo.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost value, including the negative equity and any fees you aren't paying up front.

We recommend you only put first payment and registration costs at signing.

Why are you getting out of your existing car with $3900 negative equity? As you can see, that is adding over $100/mo to your payment.

Looks like a bad deal from here.
No bank only offers 15K or 10K per year without quoting 12K/yr.

I'll guess that residual quoted is 58%. But, that means it's not a TFS lease.

LE plus awd  msrp $38200

He gave me $310 monthly payment

I'm putting $4000 down

So after tax, I figured it'll be around $350 a month and paying around $16500 for 3 years.  Is this a reasonable deal?  Any insight would be appreciated.   Thanks.

Adjusted CAP cost is the same thing as "amount financed" on a loan. It's the selling price, plus any additional amounts, minus any downpayment from you.

Sorry I misspoke. 1st payment is what I come to the table with $372 - August rebate so $122 Gross Cap $40421? And is not rolled in.

Had to kick, claw, scratch and mow down little children to get this deal.

Does anyone have MF and RV for Highlander XLE AWD in NY (Long Island)?  Does this car generally lease well?  Just got a quote on a Honda Pilot and nearly fell off my chair!  (High MF?)

If there are any other cars in the class that lease particularly well, let me know.

Yes, the Highlander should lease out much lower than a Pilot.

Infiniti QX60 leases out fairly well, relative to MSRP.

The last dealership said "there is no benefit in doing MSD anymore, it doesn't lower your payment". Does anyone have any more info on MSD? How much should doing the full MSD (9 deposits)lower your monthly payment? Thanks in advance!

Yes I checked the contract the MSRP was 38,188 and Res Value is $24,786

why doesnt there MSRP and res value doesn't match up?
