2017 Toyota Highlander LE V6 AWD
upstate NY
MSRP 35,384.00
Selling price 32,699
Taxes 2,867.72 (in NY 8.75)
DMV fee and tire tax $145
balance (is this the cap cost?) 35,714.22
They specifically say on the sheet and I asked "$0" out pocket. A true sign and drive. $0 down. My choices:
36m/10k $363.70 monthly (66% residual)
36m/12k $374.43 monthly (65% residual)
Also offered was $1,000 out of pocket and:
36m/10k $334.77 monthly
36m/12k $345.51 monthly
I was getting 7.5% discount negotiated off msrp. I have a toddler and another on the way - negotiating was tough and the salesman and manager were slow. I asked for money factor we have about 750 equifax score - is that good enough for tier 1? They wouldn't provide money factor, I needed to be more firm but kid was screaming.
Are these good numbers? I'd love to get something with more options - does anyone know what an XLE AWD would lease out at - or does that really depend on the terms I take on? I'm confused - if the residual is set, the money factor (interest rate on what you're borrowing) if those are set (and they're not screwing you), it seems like generally people get 10-12% off msrp (I would assume more at higher trim levels). I saw above a few posts an XLE lease out in Boston MA at 1k down / $385mo / 36mo / 12k miles. He negoitated 12% off msrp , is that a smoking deal?

Highlander AWD XLE Hybrid
Got a little one on the way and thinking of leasing one of these if the terms are good.
So once you get your best monthly lease payment, then should I speak to the finance department? I swear I've talked to a few finance departments and they don't know anything about MSD either. Is their paperwork I need to fill out or should they give me a price immediately with MSD discounted? I plan on doing the full 9 payments up front..
Thanks again!
Residuals are always full percentages of the MSRP.
That residual amount is 64.9% of the MSRP you gave. Residual for LE Plus AWD is 61% or 63% for 15K/yr or 12K/yr.

The residual is correct. The money factor for the NY region is .00072.
Those payments look pretty good for sign and drive. Now that you are home, just call them up and ask them for the money factor.

also are there numbers for 24/10 24/12 36/10 36/12
The residual value is fixed by the bank, and the dealer cannot modify them.
If they try to bump the MF on you for extra profit, simply (and politely) tell them you won't sign a deal unless you get the base rate. They know what that number is; no reason for you to have to disclose your sources.

But, let's assume and hope the residual is correct.
If that's the case, the numbers are exactly right, and a pretty good deal.
I'd ask about GAP insurance. The Toyota dealer I recently leased through started out around $900 for it, but eventually dropped the price to $225. Toyota does not include GAP on their leases. If you can get the price down to $300 or less, I'd take it.

Why lease if your intention is to keep it? You can skip the acquisition fee and the GAP charge if you buy outright.

I wanted to just get a check for the difference on what I owed, as I do not want to put any money into a new lease. BTW, the current lease I have is from a local credit union in NY. not sure if that makes a difference.
Why would we we hope it's correct? I just singed the paperwork and have the vehicle ? Did they inflate or something , thought I was set by toyota ?
i wanna buy at lease end and I know it's cost more in the long run
Who finances your current lease should not matter. Dealer pays it off (BTW, do you know the payoff value?), then cuts you a check for the difference.

If you end up buying the vehicle, it won't make any difference.. At 65%, lower payment now, but make it up on the higher buyout. At 63%, higher payment now, but lower buyout.

2017 Highlander AWD Platinum Limited in NJ 08701
MSRP = $47,469
Selling price = $44,137
Money factor = .00072
Net Cap Cost = $47,328.56
Residual = $28,481.40 (60%)
Acquisition fee = $650
NJ doc. fee = $499
Other fee (Window washer fee) = $399 ???
License/Title = $401
Sales tax = $1274.86 (NJ 6.875%)
Miles per year = 12,000
Term = 36 month lease
Payment w/out tax = $541.78 or w tax = $579
Credit = Tier 1+ or 1
Zero down and $579 cash due on signing
P.S. I have a lease with two payments left $462.97 per month
Thoughts please?
The $499 and $399 look like garbage fees. (meaning, you don't get anything for them)
Other than that, everything looks normal.
You have to decide if you like the selling price with $900 added.
If not, try to negotiate a lower selling price.

Can anyone help me with the RV and MF for a 2017 Limited Platinum in MI and any lease cash/incentives that may not be advertised? Looking at 36/12K and 36/15K possibilities. Thanks!
We don't have the specific MF for Michigan, but it's either .00072 or .00225

My dealer is showing me a residual of 57.386% on a Limited Platinum AWD at 36/12K
MSRP: $48,897
Sale Price: $44,764
Tax and Title Fees: $234
Acquisition: $650
Gross Cap: $47,084
Neg Equity: $1670
MF: .00072
Due at Signing: $2579 (includes neg equity, first payment, and taxes) $568 a month
Asking for adjusted cap now (maybe gross cap?)...
Does this look right? The residual is weird as it's a demo with 3K miles on it (the owner has been driving it) and that impacts the residual. My question is, does this seem like a fair deal?
Thanks!
