Hi! I am headed to the dealer tomorrow to test drive and negotiate a lease price on the following car:

2018 Q5 Premium Plus - MSRP $48,335
Includes following options: Bang & Olufsen sound, heated seats, blind spot monitoring, parking system plus.
State of Missouri

Please let me know what to ask for/look for when leasing. I haven't done this before.

Will be looking at 36 or 48 months, 12,000 miles per year.

Hi - I am getting ready to do a 1 pay lease tomorrow. I was told that it would be better to do it that way due to some not so great credit . Below is a snapshot of the best deal that they were willing to give me for a 2018 Q5 Prestige. 3 year 15k. Scottsdale Arizona. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

The problem with lower tier credit, is now you don't know if they are marking up the rate on you.
The single pay money factor for top tier credit is .00117.
You are paying $88/mo.+tax more than you would with top tier. That's a lot.

$495 aftermarkets? What is that for?

Have you considered a Premium Plus model? The residual is 4% higher than prestige.
The lease on that would be over $60/mo. less, even if it was loaded up to the same MSRP (which it probably won't be).

I am interested in a 2018 QS5 on a 36/12K lease. I live in Indiana.
I presently own outright a 2015 Q5.

I have been given a 5.5% courtesy discount.
I am looking for all rebates and offers if you know of any and the current MF and residuals for 36/12.

We are looking at a Q5 premium+ with lots of options including the digital cockpit. MSRP is $53550, it has been offered to us at $50K. The money factor is at .00225 for 15K miles/36 month lease and the residule is $32,665 . We are also looking at a 12K mileage lease, but they have not quoted on this option.

.00177 is the base MF on the Q5; politely tell the dealer you won't sign unless you get the base rate.

That is a decent discount from sticker, however (6.6%)

can you fill me in on fees FL has that I should expect and which can I negotiate?

The dealer fee is pure profit - and, FL dealers are very good at this.

Simply negotiate a price to offset that amount.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and for a full breakdown of the $2500 up front costs.

Hi Michaell. Would you clarify please. This is the difficult part for me. I'm unsure of how the costs need to be added. He tried to put fees at one point in cost of vehicle. For example would the dealer fee be included in vehicle cost like the destination fee? I have many questions but not sure what to ask..LOL.
What would the adjusted cap cost supposed to include or not include?
You mention breakdown of upfront cost of $2500 is this not sample of down payment? If not what are those costs come from?

The destination fee is part of the MSRP. Any dealer who breaks it out is not to be trusted in other parts of the deal.

There is an $895 acquisition fee, mandated by Audi Finance.

There is likely a dealer document fee.

Adjusted cap cost is the negotiated selling price plus any taxes and / or fees that you do not pay up front, less any down payment (called cap cost reduction in lease-speak)

The $2500 could be some cap reduction, and some fees you are paying up front. Get the details from the dealer.

Hi - thanks for this forum. I saw a note that the residual is increased by 1% if you purchase Audicare. I am about to close on a lease on Thursday. I asked and was told that "they keep the point for dealership." Is this at the dealer's discretion or are there any national rules about this?

What, exactly, do they mean by that? That they increase the MF to compensate for the higher residual?

If so, I'd walk.

It sounds like the dealer not only wants to make the $50-$100 for selling you AudiCare, but also wants to keep another $500 that you get back through raising the residual.

I didn't know it was optional for the dealer, but I'd tell them where to stick that offer (so to speak).

Yes, the dealer is saying they won't increase the residual value by the 1% if we buy audicare. They don't increase the MF but they just don't increase the residual. Having said that, we ended up getting 14% below MSRP on a Prestige because they made a calculation mistake and still honored the price so seems like a good deal.

I am sure it is posted somewhere but I couldn't find it after looking a bit: do you guys recommend the audicare and/or any of the other offers they pitch when we pick it up?

AudiCare is supposed to be a good deal because of the residual bump. I'm very confused that your dealer won't honor that - it's in the terms and conditions of the information we receive.

Going out to shop leases on Audi Q5 and MB GLC 300 4matic. Can you please provide the MF and RV for 10,000/36 on the 2018 Q5 quattro premium, premium plus as well as the prestige models. Just moved to Virginia and have only leased in my prior state so what is the tax on car leases/purchase in VA? Is there anything in particular I should know about leasing in VA? Does the dealer increase the RV by 1% if you purchase audi care? Is the $750 cash toward cap cost reduction plus the audi pays first month incentives available on all 3 trim levels. Thanks for the info.
