I'm in the process of finalizing a deal on 2018 Q5 Premium+ 10/36 and was wondering if these numbers look good. I live in Indiana 47905.

I was offered 2 calculations by the dealer.

Calculation 1: First month is free so only 35 payments. Nothing due at contract signing time.

If you can afford to make a single lease payment, that will get you the best terms. No risk, either, in losing the money.

You can't combine MSDs and single-pay. So, given the slight money factor advantage to single pay (.00117 vs. .00132), I'd stick with MSDs, and keep more money in my pocket. Not worth putting 27 more payments upfront to save .00015 on the MF.

We do not recommend any down payment, much less one of $10K

That masks the true cost of the lease, and that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

Base MF is .00177 MF, so that's marked up a lot.

Other than that, don't see any issues.
I wouldn't put $3000 upfront on a lease, though you'll trade that for a higher payment with less upfront.

NJ collects sales tax upfront. If you are paying it upfront (as it shows in your numbers), why are you then applying the tax rate to the payment? It doesn't work that way.

Other than that, the $583.40 payment is correct.
Why not do 36 months? The residual is 62%, and the payment would drop by $32/mo.

Also, the money factor is marked up from .00177. That adds $8/mo.

Is this lease a good deal? Does anything look out of the ordinary? It looks like in the gross cap cost - they are not charging me doc fee and license fee?

I want to make sure they are not pulling a fast one on me.

That's a lot of good information, but...

Did they quote you a payment?
What state and tax rate?
Also, your second amount isn't the "New MSRP", it's the selling price. MSRP never changes.

They did not quote me a payment yet, but it is in Los Angeles and the sales tax is 9.5%.

If I apply the first payment rebate and $750 loyalty to the CAP cost, I get $576/mo.+tax = $630/mo. That's a little higher than their quote, but I don't have the actual adjusted CAP cost.

Your drive off should be:
1st payment
$895 acquisition fee
$80 dealer doc fee
$550 DMV fees (estimated)

That's pretty close to the $2127 number they gave you.

I am thinking I will trade in our car and take the Max MSDs of 9 which should lower the payments to about 585/month with tax. It seems like a good deal, Thoughts?

Yes.. MSDs is a good way to use the equity in your vehicle. Lower monthly, and then you get them back at lease end.
