Look into premier purchase or balloon options. If you lease, you pay the 10.25 or 10.5% sales tax and then another 9% leased property tax on your monthly payments. Balloons you pay the sales tax on the full purchase price but when you trade back in you only pay tax on the difference between the trade in and the new car value - so I think it helps in the long run over multiple cars.

Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using for the $870/mo quote, and how they got there from the discount selling price.

If you read up a few posts, you'll see that someone in CA picked up a Q5 Prestige for 42 months for $535/mo. Not saying you can do as well as that, but it's something to think about.

2018 Q5 Prestige MSRP starts from $50,800 + $975 destination. The Person you are taking about has written $44,510 MSRP which is not even true for Premium Plus which starts from $45,500 + $975 destination. I apologize for my ignorance but MSRP can only increase from base msrp right?

My dealer is using Adj cap cost of $55560 which looks weird to me but he says, he has added taxes, fees and acquisition cost to it. His mathematics was beyond my understanding. Thats why Im looking for your help.

I'm not sure if Audi does, but I found a CPO P+ with about 8,000 miles on it (12601) - would that vehicle be eligible for a lease? If so, do you have numbers on it (36/15)?

I'm trying to compare it to what I would expect for a 36/15 lease on a new P+ if you have those numbers as well.

No idea if it's eligible for a lease, or not. Some CPOs are demos or service loaners and might be eligible, but we don't know how that mileage will affect the residual, or if it might be over the cutoff for leasing.

1. They can be leased as new with miles, the cut off is 10k
2. The depreciation goes down by $0.15 per mile

I'll check, but even at 1k the residual hit is negligible so I suspect there is no minimum. With that said, with the freakishly good residual on the SQ5, Q5 leasing makes little sense, let alone a demo!

Right, but not everyone needs that much power under their right foot.

And, the SQ5 is about $10K more dear than the Q5, if optioned equally.

No.. .the discount is .00060, so in the example above, the money factor would be .00109

On a Q5, you may be able to get 5%, but maybe not.

My local dealer quotes $2000 off any Q5.. that would be 4% or less.

I received a quote today for a new 2018 Q5 Premium Plus with 20" wheels and Cold Weather Pkg with an MSRP of $48,575. I received a 10% discount for a negotiated price of $43,717. MF and Residual is .00169/59% for 36/10K lease with nothing out of pocket just $639 including tax and all fees x 36 months. Am I getting a good deal? Based in South Florida.
