Have the dealer provide you a breakdown of the $3000

First payment
Acquisition fee - $895
Dealer fee - maybe a few hundred dollars
RMV costs - I don't know what those run in MA

No way that should total $3000; of them, we recommend that only the first payment and registration costs be paid at signing; roll the acquisition and dealer fees into the monthly payment

That $3000 is basically the down payment that we are putting on the lease. The registration costs plus all other fees are already rolled into the monthly payments.

Dealers don't pay your DMV fees. Anything they pay for is made up somewhere else.
There may be a first payment waiver from Audi, however.
