kyfdx stated they added another $1500 of dealer cash this week, good till 2/28. I have confirmed it with a couple dealers.
So, a total of $5500 dealer/lease cash available if the dealer wants to play! MF is .00074, not sure on your RV for that model/mileage. Then the regular dealer discount and maybe some hold back if they are hungry.

So I have been working a few dealers this week hoping to capitalize on the Presidents Day incentives.
Down to 2 dealers that have basically got to the same lease just structured slightly different. One is Sign & Drive with first month due at signing the other is true Sign & Drive nothing due at signing ($10 more/mth) and only 35 months of lease payments. Those are pretty good prices. About what my local dealer offers (but, without tax, making your deal better).

$50/mo. is a pretty big price upgrade.. I'd definitely want an extended test drive on both, before I decided.

How much more for V-6 AWD?

We closed on our 5th TL/X. Current lease doesn't close until June but with loyalty pull ahead and combination of lease incentives, holiday bonus - it looked the prime time for getting into a new TLX.

Here's what we closed on:

Cap Cost $37,100

MF 0.00074
RV 55% for 36/7,500 (+20K miles rolled over from last lease)
Sales Tax 5%
Paid first mo, fees, titles & taxes

Ended up saving $86/mo compared to our 2015 V6 FWD P-AWS Advance lease.

Of course they're only replying with info on monthly payments and I will need to inquire about other numbers. I am a little confused abt the MF though. Can they tell me what the MF is without running my credit?

$383 a month


With only $648 due at signing... (tax and tags)
$363 a month

Both numbers are based on 36 months / 12,000 miles per year

There is an ad (possibly some gotchas) from the dealer through who I have my current lease - 7500 miles 36 months, 2.4 Tech 228/month $2888 down, tax, title, license and doc fees extra.

OK, spent the afternoon test driving and negotiating.
Didn't really want to spend the extra money for the V6 if the 4 cyl. was sufficient. After some good highway to city road test drives of both, the V6 is hands down the best choice.
After much negotiating, we agreed on a True Sign & Drive deal with nothing due at signing and 35 lease payments to follow.
We ended up bettering the numbers above.
Got it to $375/mth and they pay my last $310 payment on my current Honda.
For comparison, if you convert the $375/35 payment to a 36 mth payment schedule your at $365/mth.
So, I think we did OK, plus they paid my last current lease payment. Win Win!
To think at the begining of the month they started with an offer or $469/mth. Shows doing your homework helps!

I tried to calculate using the Edmunds lease calculator but am not getting the same numbers as the advertisement of the dealer.

Vehicle sales price / capitalized cost = should this be what Edmunds has proposed or should it be mSRP?

Incentives & Rebates = this is 5500 (I guess) ... should this be used only if MSRP is used as a sales price?

Residual Value = this should be 55% of the sale price (proposed by Edmunds) or the MSRP?

Residual is a percentage of MSRP (bottom line number on the factory window sticker)

$5500 should be deducted from your best negotiated selling price.

The cap cost is the selling price, less rebates, plus any taxes and fees you are not paying up front.

That's up to the individual dealer. Now that you know about it, use the knowledge to negotiate your best price.

I hope it will help. I just signed the lease. 2018 TLX 2.4 w tech . I pay $399/m 12K, down only first payment plus dmv.  MSRP $37600, negotiated price on the lease is $31,442.

So, I got another response with some numbers.....but still not ALL the numbers. (I asked for info on the base tlx and 2.4 w/ tech. - 36/12).

Cap. Cost-----------selling price plus bank fee $595, tags $350
MF----------------- .00074
Residual------------55% 12k on base TLX/ 53% on TLX tech
Document Fees----$141 Same everywhere in PA, NJ doc fee is minimum $350
Discounts/Rebates/Incentives--------$3,500 in lease & dealer cash
Sales Tax------- sales tax is on the payment for a lease and it is 9%

Focusing on the tech. package - the current internet special is: MSRP $37,665.00 (includes destination, excludes tax, license, title fee, registration, documentation fee, options, insurance and the like). Actual net capitalized cost $29,768.07. Net capitalized cost includes $595 acquisition fee.



Before I respond back asking for the selling price they're offering, I have a few questions:

1) Is the $3,500 incentive already included in the net cap cost ($29,768.07) ? Or am I negotiating to get the net reduced even further?

2) Is the extra incentive $1500 or $2000? And, do I straight up say "I know there is an additional $1500 /$2000 incentive" ? What type of incentive is it?

3) Isn't the residual 54% on the 2.4 w/ tech?

Again, I am new to negotiating so any info. you can provide is appreciated!

Residual------------55% 12k on base TLX/ 53% on TLX tech
Document Fees----$141 Same everywhere in PA, NJ doc fee is minimum $350
Discounts/Rebates/Incentives--------$3,500 in lease & dealer cash
Sales Tax------- sales tax is on the payment for a lease and it is 9%

Focusing on the tech. package - the current internet special is: MSRP $37,665.00 (includes destination, excludes tax, license, title fee, registration, documentation fee, options, insurance and the like). Actual net capitalized cost $29,768.07. Net capitalized cost includes $595 acquisition fee.



Before I respond back asking for the selling price they're offering, I have a few questions:

1) Is the $3,500 incentive already included in the net cap cost ($29,768.07) ? Or am I negotiating to get the net reduced even further?

2) Is the extra incentive $1500 or $2000? And, do I straight up say "I know there is an additional $1500 /$2000 incentive" ? What type of incentive is it?

3) Isn't the residual 54% on the 2.4 w/ tech?

Again, I am new to negotiating so any info. you can provide is appreciated!

It's just a label.. They could make 710+ all Tier 1, then say 700 is Tier 2, and the result would be the same.

But, keep pushing on the cap cost, to find out where the bottom is for the dealers you are working with.
