We've had a couple of reports that VW offers a 7.5K allowance in selected markets - it's possible NY is one of them.

This may be a silly question, but what causes the MF to change? For example, I noticed that in CO a few months ago it was .00080 and today it is .00170. Do they go up and down at certain times of the year or is it just randomly changing? Those adjustments make a pretty large difference in monthly payments. Any thoughts?

A dumb question, please guide. Do you calculate Residual % (just an example) as following:

MSRP: $40,000
Payment in 36 months: 36 X 500 = $18,000
Residual: 22,000
Residual %: 55%

You don't calculate the residual percentage. It's set by the leasing bank.

So, if the residual is set at 55%, it's $22,000, in the example above.
The residual has an effect on the payment, but it's not as linear as you've noted.
There are also finance charges and a discount from MSRP.
The formula is NOT: Payments + residual = MSRP

There has to be different options on it for the MSRP to be that different.

Audi and Porsche can charge $3500 for "special" colors - don't see that possible from VW.

Hi Michaell,

Thank you so much for your lease numbers, it is much appreciated. Dealer was quoting 59% residual and was stating VW Care didn't change it, but it looks like VW Care adds 1% to it. That would change the residual to 61% plus $400 lease cash back.

If we were to purchase the Tiguan SEL Premium FWD, I notice a $1000 incentive online but are there any other incentives/Interest rate options on the purchase currently?
