I confirm the MF and residual, and my payment calculations are .01 off the quote (rounding error, I suspect).

Only way to improve it is to get a lower selling price.

Hello..I'm new to the forum, and I just received what I consider an outrageous offer from my local VW dealer here in VA.

Was negotiating on a 2018 Tiguan SE (with sunroof) FWD, and everything on the pricing seemed appropriate but they wouldn't immediately tell me what the MF was and I kept saying to my salesman that a payment of 399 just didn't make sense based on cap cost, residual, etc. I was negotiating everything online.

Well, they finally forwarded to me the MF and I couldn't believe it. .00286 for Tier 1 credit. Yes, they confirmed Tier 1 with me.

So, my question is what was the base MF from VW for Tier 1? I plan on contacting the owner of the dealership to let him/her know they have lost my business for good.

Wow. Ok, confirms I won't be going back to that dealer even for free air in a low tire. Thanks for the confirmation. Illustrates how information is king and your help is such a great asset to us all. I would also add that the salesman had the audacity to suggest that MF was not like APR at all, that leases "work differently."

Most salespeople can't do the math, anyway. It's not a skill that's needed for their job. They really aren't looking for customers that understand the math.

We don't follow pricing, but considering the $2200 VW-to-dealer incentive, your discount is only $800. You may be able to do a little better than that.

By rolling in $860.87 in drive-off costs, you are subjecting them to sales tax, within the payment, when that amount would be non-taxable, if paid upfront.

Pay the $860.87 upfront, and the payment drops to $402.79/mo. (that's how I would structure it)
With the base MF, $395.24/mo.

2. My original plan was to wait for Memorial Day. Any guidance on whether or not that would make the most financial sense? (More lease cash, lower MSRP or MF, etc?) Seems like it would need to be significantly over a $400 savings for me to wait.

Thoughts?

1) I'm not in the market, so I don't know where prices are headed, or what you can achieve.
2) Any gains on one side of the coin (lower money factor), could be offset by losses on the other side (lower residual, lower incentives). It's impossible to know, ahead of time.

Welp, went back in to negotiate and they let me walk at $404/month after taking your suggestions. Wouldn't budge from there. Guess I'll wait it out since we aren't in desperate need of a new car.

Hello, my wife and I have been looking to lease a 2018 Tiguan S 4motion. We are in Ohio (6.75 sales tax). Looking to get this done by the end of June, so just trying to find out what a good deal would be. 

We are ideally looking for about $1500 down, up to $2000 max (we have an ending jeep compass lease so we have to cover the dispo fee on that). Our target monthly payment is $220-230. Is this doable?

$24150 selling price (est)
$675 acquisition fee
$700 sales tax
$315/mo, with first payment and DMV/doc fees upfront. (about $650 due at signing)

You may be able to do better than that.. But, $1500 upfront and $220/mo. doesn't look likely

With $2500 lease cash, not sure that $5800 off MSRP is possible (seems doubtful)

I've never actually heard of anyone ordering a VW. Surely, with all of the dealers around, you can find one you like?

I had this offer on the table yesterday, I wasn't sure about the trim level so I didn't pull the trigger. I'm curious as to what the May 2018 money factor and depreciation is on a 12,000 mile/year lease on either a S or SE.

Residual Amount: 15,042.05 (is this supposed to be based on the MSRP or the selling price?)

Edit: There was no money down on this. Only paid the first payment upfront.

This seems like a solid offer. Are VW money factors usually this high? Are these cars typically this discounted?
