    Hi,

    What state and tax rate?

If I add the acquisition fee and sales tax to the sale price, I get $349/mo.

Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using for their $369/mo quote.

    Ohio - 6.75

    per the dealer:

Gross Cap Cost - $30,891.06 (includes sales tax, acquisition fee, and the lease fees (first months payment, doc fee, title, registration, plates) since it's a sign-then-drive lease)
    Residual Value - $18,586.70
    Money Factor - 0.00055
With that gross cap, I get $369/mo on the nose.

    Hello,

I am in the market for a 2018 SEL Tiguan AWD. I wanted to check to see how the following numbers are. I am in the Upstate NY Market - 14228 is my zip.

    Sales tax should be 8.75%

The total capcost is 30457, this is after 1k down and dmv feels rolled in.

MSRP was somewhere around 33k, residual is 19877.

I was quoted 329 a month for 15k/36. I still think this is a bit high but I'm not sure.

Dealer keeps telling me how hes trying to hit a january goal and that next month he wont be able to make the same deal.

    .00090 and 59%

Are the taxes and non DMV fees being paid up front, or are they also part of the cap cost you've been given?

    Michaell,

I was given 0.00055 and 59% as the rates.

The dealer explained it like this:

The initial cap cost is $29800. You then add in all your fees, and taxes. Then subtract your $1,600 ($1,000 plus first and dmv) and you’ll get an adjusted cap cost of $30457

So looks like the fees and DMV are paid by me at signing.

Mistakenly gave you the FWD numbers.

With MSRP of $33,690 and adjusted CAP of $30,457, I get $322/mo.

That's pretty close, but just a little short of $329/mo.

My math yeilded around the same, thank you for verifying it!

There's nothing crazy about this deal that makes it unlikely to get in feb or march right? The dealer kept saying how low he was going because of how badly he wanted to meet his step goal.

I would hate to guess what might happen, next month.
There is $800 of dealer lease cash on this model, so the discount is a little over $3000. That's pretty good.

Even if you get an aggressive deal, the lease program might turn against you (or, the other way).
There is just no way to know.

But, if you don't need a car, yet... it's always better to wait.

I guess the worst case scenario is a bump in interest and/or the lease cash being reduced?

    Hello,

I got this offer for a Tiguan S AWD  4Motion in Western MA. With 3rd row

    36/12

    MSRP is 27,745

The Total Cap Cost is 25,298.00

and the money factor I’m not sure of

    Sale tax 1634.91

    1,500 down

    collage gread discount of 500

    Bank fees 675

    Dealer / state fees 664

    Total price of 28271.91.

    Rebates of 800

Monthly payment is $255.84 tax included.

I seen a lower advertising not including the taxes at 239.00 with 0 down on the same exact but I don’t think they’ll match.

Is that a good deal for a base model? Or should I look else where. Thanks for your time

.00055 and 61% With the MSRP and cap costs provided, I get the same payment, but before tax; $272/mo after 6.25% tax. I'm sure the MSRP of the unit advertised at $239/mo isn't the same as the unit you got your quote for. What does the $1500 at signing cover?
So acording to the sales person and the finance manager. It would be 255.84 including the taxes and gap insurance. Now on what would the 1500 cover not 100% sure. I know they said I was getting a total of 1300 in rebates. The Drive off would be 2800   (Rabates plus Down). I know they said my first payment was coverd within that amount. But that’s all I recall.
Ask the dealer for the full breakdown of the $1500
I asked the dealer about the full brake down but just keep getting the run around. “Leaseing is really complicated and that the drive off amount covers my 240 first months payment. “

What should the Down payment amount actually be put into?

Im not sure if there pulling a fast one under me.

I was told with my collage grad creadit of 500 would drop my payment to 240.00 from the original 255. that is with taxes and gap insurance included. At a MF .00095 does this make sence?

Should i I be looking out for anything in this deal?

What you should be looking for is a new dealer to work with.

Leasing is not that complicated - just 5th grade math.

Dealers that hide the numbers are dealers you want to walk away from.

GAP insurance is automatically included with every VW lease - by breaking it out, they are confusing the issue.

Both, and also a residual reduction is possible.

It's unlikely the lease program will change a lot, but it's always possible.

The dealer was right about one thing.. they are generally more motivated at the end of the month (like any business in sales).

I don’t have the detailed numbers for the deal but basically MSRP around 24-25k 2018 Tiguan SE. 36months, 10k Miles , either 309 tax in per month with absolutely nothing out of pocket or 289 tax in with 500 out of pocket (dealership in south Florida) .  Seems like a great deal compared to what others are getting on this forum.. any thoughts?

I wanted to thank Michaell and Kyfdx for their help over the past month in both this thread and the CX-5 threads.

I purchased my 2018 SEL AWD last night @ 15k/36 with 1400 due at signing and 279 a month for 35 months. I'm sure I could have gone a few dollars cheaper but I was happy with the deal. Having the rates easily accessible, and replies answered so quickly i was able to make a good decision.

    Thanks guys!

Michaell - thanks for the info. And being new to leasing, is that what dealerships should be using so anything above that is their markup? If so, how close should one target to the calculated lease payments using the MF and residual to consider it a “good” deal?

Dealer has to use the residual, but can mark up the MF for extra profit.

You want the base MF in any deal you sign.

I'm paying $445 for a 2018 SE 4Motion Tiguan on 48 months lease and 15K with zero down. Does this look fair to you? I live in a Chicagoland suburb and got the car on January 6th, 2018.

    Thanks!

Fair? If you agreed to the deal, it's fair.

But, it doesn't look like a good deal, IMO.

Too hard to tell, without knowing all the numbers.

    And, why frustrate yourself?

Chalk this up to a learning experience, and come back when this lease is up. We will still be here, and can help you with your research on the next deal.

    Hello,

Looking for information on a 2018 VW Tiguan Lease.

I live in Wisconsin and was quoted the following on a SE with 3rd row option. Would like to know where I could be at with a payment on SE and SEL for 36 months/15k? The price that was quoted to me seems a bit high for an SE. This is also with $0 down though. Let me know if you think I can do better than the numbers below, many thanks!

    Zip: 54601
2018 Tiguan SE with 3rd option (don’t need the 3rd row option but wasn’t sure if it made a difference).
    36 month/15k
    Base Monthly Payment: $406.27
    Tax: $22.10
    Total Monthly: $428.37
    Residual Amount: $17,673.45
    MF: .00095
    Retail: $29,955
    Discount: $550
    Sale Price: $29,405
    Customer Cash: $445.52
    Total Cap Reduction: $17.15

I'll assume AWD, as this is WI....

    .00065 and 59% for 36/15
    $250 lease cash on SE
    No lease cash on SEL

We don’t track pricing – use the “make / model / year” tabs at the top of the page to link to the Edmunds price tools.

Offer I got in Florida for a 2018 Tiguan se FWD

    MSRP: $29,300
    Selling Price (Cap Cost): $25,635
    Residual: 61%
    Money Factor 0.00100
$1,000.00 out of pocket at signing

Monthly Payment $327 plus tax so $346.62

This lease also includes about $1700 in negative equity from a lease we would be leaving early.

That's the correct MF and residual for 36/10.

$50/mo. to get out of that lease early

I'm seeing SE models marked way down online for purchase. Are there some rebates for purchase on the backend?

Dealer gets $1000 bonus if you finance at discounted rate.
    $1500, if you take a 1% markup.

It's possible that they get even bigger bonuses, if they can stick you with a higher rate. Sometimes, those ads are contingent on you taking crappy financing.

But, there could be other incentives that we don't know about.
