Here I got this offer for a 2018 X3 xDrive (service loaner) Southern California

So, absolutely $0 out of pocket from you, right? The rebate covers the $1500 upfront?
13.5% off MSRP is really good, especially for a 2018 with very low miles.

    The calculations are correct.
That's a great payment, given the lease program you have to work with.

Could someone give me an idea on the RV/MF in California for 2018 X3 (convenience package w/ nav, parking sensor and heated seates).

    1. Term = 10k or 12k for 36 months
    2. RV = ??
    3. MF = ??
    4. The MSRP I'm dealing with is $50,345

Reading the forum it looks like 9% discount should be what I am shooting for. But I'd like to know what the MF and RV should be so I can make sure this fits within our budget!

If anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate that, thanks!

    .00152 and 58% / 59%

We recommend 7% off sticker for a new unit, and more if it is a demo or loaner.

May we suggest you add them into the lease payment?

If the car is stolen or totaled, that up front money you paid will be lost. You think the state of NJ will refund you the sales tax you paid but didn't use?

I get $611/mo with those numbers, so your quote looks to be in line.

Should I potentially look to get more off the MSRP? This was a salesperson who told me that this is her best offer up front. looks to me about just under 11% off MSRP, should I expect more?

11% off sticker is good, but if you don't ask for more, you'll never know if you can get more.

Getting this deal from a dealer in CA:

    MSRP: $50,345
SELLING PRICE: Dealer has not disclosed (I'll have to ask in my follow-up call)
    MONEY FACTOR: .00152
58% REISDUAL @ 12K MILES PER YEAR for 36 months
    I qualify for $1,500 loyalty

    DRIVE-OFF = $1,496
    MONTHLY PAYMENT: $577+tax = $621.72

Total lease cost seems to be roughly $23,250. Especially with the $1,500 credit on loyalty. Seems a little high in my opinion but not sure what kind of deals are out there currently.

Can you advise if this is this a good deal? What should I ask for on discount for MSRP?

Can't really comment without the selling price.
Shoot for 7% off before deducting the rebate.

That sounds like a good price if it includes taxes as I have been shopping around here in CA and haven’t found anything close to this with similar MSRP and terms.

I get $548/mo with those prices, before taxes.

Has the tax rate changed in CT? If I use the tax rate of 6.35%, the total payment is $583/mo. Not a big difference to your payment quote, but something to look into.

Michael that is very helpful, thank you. The difference is in CT the tax rate for vehicles above $50K is 7.75 so that brings the cost to $590 and also have to pay the tax on the $1500 rebate that brings the cost to $594.28. Overall does the deal look okay to you?

Yes, that is a healthy discount from sticker you are getting.

Can't really see any way to improve upon it.

And, thanks for the 411 on the CT tax situation - good information to have.

What is the adjusted cap cost, with the taxes and fees added in?

That is the base MF, which is a good start.

And, over 10% off sticker, which is also good.

Just want to double check for any junk fees being added in, but so far, so good.

They are also offering to pay me for the last two months of my lease with Acura. What are your thoughts on that? They tell me I have to take delivery at the end of March for this deal and if I wait until April to order the car I won't get same selling price of vehicle as they are offering me now.

They will give you a check for the last two payments? You would still be responsible for any end of lease charges (mileage, damage, disposition fee)? They don't want to take it in trade?

I'd be hard pressed to believe the deal would be substantially different in April than it is now. If you wait, you won't have your old lease to complicate the deal.

Can you let me know your thoughts on this deal in Westchester County, NY for 36 months and 12,000 miles:

2018 X3, Luxury Design with Convenience Package,Premium Package, Run Flat Tires, Driving Assistance Package, Apple CarPlay, Park Distance Control.

    MSRP: $54,345
    SELLING PRICE: $48,584.30
    MONEY FACTOR: .00152
    58% REISDUAL

DRIVE-OFF = $880 (first month, plus, DMV fees, Dealer Fees and Tire Surcharge)
    MONTHLY PAYMENT: $682.91

    Thank you.

What is the adjusted cap cost, with the taxes and fees added in?

That is the base MF, which is a good start.

And, over 10% off sticker, which is also good.

Just want to double check for any junk fees being added in, but so far, so good.

Thank you. I am waiting to hear back from the dealer on the adjusted cap cost.

Yes, I will be responsible for the $350 disposition fee (which I would have to pay anyway even if I wait until end of lease) and the dealer would give me a check for my last two payments. I won't have any mileage or damage fees, the car is pristine. They are really pushing me to make a decision quickly since I would need to take delivery at the end of March in order to qualify for the two payments, which means the car would need to be ordered next week.

So, you will be driving the old car until the new one arrives in 6 weeks. Not to be pessimistic, but a lot can happen in that time.

True, but if I was trading in a financed car and waiting for build it would be the same, correct? I'm new to leasing so I'm not well versed in the in and outs of returning a vehicle. Thank you for your time.

Here is another quote I received from a different dealer. Cost of car slightly higher but monthly payment slightly lower. How does this look?

    $54,345 MSRP

$48,823 selling price (includes dealer discounts as well as $500 Fleet discount)

    MF .00152

    RES 58%

    $0 CAP Cost reduction

Upfront sales tax $1771.53 (caped into payment)

Doc fee $75 (capped into payment)

Inspection fee $10 (capped into payment)

Tire Fee $10 (capped into payment)

Acquisition fee $925 (capped into payment)

    $669.89 monthly payment

    Thank you.

Heard back from the dealer. The monthly payment was adjusted as he was using the incorrect tax rate. So the monthly payment is now $675.17. $872 due at signing and adjusted cap cost is $51,294. How did this look?

Sorry for the multiple posts. I appreciate all your advice.

A Wall Street Journal reporter is hoping to find a recent buyer that would be willing to talk about their experience at the dealership, specifically about how/if the salesperson explained car safety systems during the purchase process. She's hoping to ask a few questions about how the dealer explained the ADAS package, tried to sell it to them, demonstrated how it worked, etc. Please send a note to pr@edmunds.com by next Friday 2/23/18

That's a pretty decent deal, given the lease program you have to work with.

    carioca5 the MSRP is $53.450

    And the selling price is?
Michael : The selling price or the Net Cap Cost is $46,970
I get $548/mo with those prices, before taxes.

Has the tax rate changed in CT? If I use the tax rate of 6.35%, the total payment is $583/mo. Not a big difference to your payment quote, but something to look into.
Michael the tax rate for CT you have is correct at 6.35%. Can you send me your calculations for the $548 is possible. Thank you.

Ended up buying the X3 with above spec at $46,000 at almost 13.8% below MSRP.

Wow.. $69K? You didn't miss checking any of the option boxes!
I'm within a couple of dollars of their numbers.

$1375 seems high for government fees, but I'm not that familiar with DC.

Are those incentives coming off of the Internet Lease Price?
Or, is that price after the discounts?

I am currently in the market to lease a 2018 BMW X3. I live in NC and am a currently leasing my 2nd BMW. It seems this time I’m having a difficult time getting the dealers to negotiate the MSRP price as they did with my last 2 leases.
What is a fair price to offer on a new 18 X3 MSRP 48885? And what is the residual of an 18 X3 when I’m attempting to get a payment estimate?
Thanks for any help with this!

    .00152 MF and 56% residual for 36/15.

I'd shoot for 7% off MSRP.
