Hello everyone. Thank you for all the pertinent info and advice. A valuable forum with great members and information.

Looking for MF and RV for an Accord Sedan Touring 2.0T in Indiana, 36/12k and 36/15k.

I also used the Costco Auto Program to see what kind of price I could get, and one dealer came back with $500 below invoice ($33,218), which I did not think was that good of deal considering they are selling it for $33719 on their website. I have sent out a few emails to see what other dealers will offer.

    Thanks for your time!

    .00128 MF and 56%/54% residual
    Thank you!

I am new here and see many people getting deals for less than MSRP and my question is this: How much can I realistically expect to see reduced from MSRP for the TLX? I'm sure, like anything else, it varies by the trim/package, but here's my situation...

I currently lease a 2015 TLX V6 base model that expires soon and am debating between:
another TLX V6 base (or Tech or Advance package if I can get a good deal/reduction of MSRP)
    2018 Honda Accord 2.0T 10AT
    2018 Honda Accord 2.0T Hybrid
From what I have researched, it appears that my monthly payments on the above Accord(s) would be much higher than an Acura lease since Hondas don't typically offer great lease deals compared to Acura.

Obviously, I am trying to get the best deal possible and would like to keep my monthly payments at or below $400 with $0 down for 12k/36 mo lease. So for the experts out here, knowing my preferences do you think it's a waste of time for me to keep looking at the Accords? How about TLX w/Tech or Adv?

As I noted in the TLX thread, you're more likely to get a better lease price on that than the Accord, this month.

But i think that is the MSRP with Destination and the quote mentions 0 for destination so it would be $30,300 or so.... not sure :/

    OK, .00128 and 60%

    The MSRP always includes destination.

I get $410/mo plus tax with those prices. $385/mo looks pretty good, by comparison.

    Hi,
Do you think it would be possible to get an Accord EX for $23,600 before TTL. The dealer has 170 accords on the lot.
    Thank you!

It’s my first time considering lease due to vehicle change so frequently with negative equity always being the end result.
I’m sure I will get shafted regardless due to inexperience but is there any insight on how much better deals will be on Memorial Day?
And is it strictly from the initial price with incentives or is MF/residual subject to change as well?
thanks for the help in advance

57% residual If the Hybrid has the same money factor as the gas sedan, then it's .00128 MF But, I don't know that part for sure.
Can I have RV for 2018 EX-L pls? MF I see is .00128

Likely the lease program numbers may change in May, as well. And, if Honda is smart, they'll throw in a bit of lease cash to help move inventory.

But that's just wishful thinking from a web moderator (who test drove a 1.5T Sport when they were first released and really liked it)

So what’s the best way to get the MF? Trying to negotiate through email before I head to dealer. I figured I would just ask and if they pushed back I’d say the base MF is .00128.

Don't do that - the dealer will want to know where your information came from, then things can get awkward.

Use the base MF in your calculations with the prices they gave you, and if your payment is lower than theirs, simply tell them you won't sign a deal unless the base MF is used.

That said, I don't think Honda dealers mark up the MF all that often, so this may be a non-issue.

Ok thanks for the info. Didn’t know how to approach it so I appreciate the advice. But if there is a difference in payment and I say my calculations are lower than yours they can just ask me the same question and what numbers I’m using.

Do you think they'd have special incentives specifically for Memorial Day?? or the New incentives for Month of May would be the same on Memorial Day?

We don't have any insight into future programs.

New programs start on May 1st.

Just playing devils advocate here, please don't take my comments with any hostility, but is there a reason why you guys don't provide a chart of some sort with MF, residual, and incentives? This information only changes monthly and if it does change, just barely.

It would seem to me that instead of getting asked daily about the same information, it would be easier to point someone to this chart. Maybe this information is available and I'm just missing it.

This might be a silly question, but if it's confidential information, why is it being shared? It doesn't seem too confidential.

i assume Touring 2.0T; calculations are balls on! still seems high to me (but i'm cheap). The lack of any lease cash kills these Accord deals...

It's just a normal car lease for a unit with the highest trim and lowest residual.

$433/mo. is a pretty typical payment for a nearly $37K MSRP vehicle.

We just aren't used to seeing Accord leases without incentives. I bet that won't hold up, all year.

My local Honda dealer usually has about 45-50 accords on the lot. They now have 94 (all trims) and they are not a high volume dealer. They must be running out of room to store them. It took hyundai a full quarter to realize they needed to boost incentives on the Sonata (another slow selling sedan); seems honda is waiting a bit longer but time is on the buyer's side (if you can wait)

    Ended up sealing the deal!

    36,690 MSRP
    33665 selling price
    500 grad incentive
    $432/month, 3yrs/36k, 800 drive off

I was unable to secure any accessories, however I was able to get them to match other dealer pricing because some of their installation costs were absurd.

Thank you very much for the MF and RV information! If I didn't have that info I would have been less informed and would have limited my negotiation. I appreciate all of the help!

Well if you manage to get the lease with monthly payments equals 1% of car MSRP with $0 upfront then it’s great deal. So if the car MSRP is $33,860
then monthly payment should be $386 a month with just sign and drive. $0 our of pocket. The thing is it’s almost impossible to get :(

Can somebody explain to me the 1% rule of thumb regarding car lease payments?
Well if you manage to get the lease with monthly payments equals 1% of car MSRP with $0 upfront then it’s great deal. So if the car MSRP is $33,860
then monthly payment should be $386 a month with just sign and drive. $0 our of pocket. The thing is it’s almost impossible to get :(
Except, the number is $338, not $386. ;)
Haha. That’s correct. My bad ;)

There are some brands that you can get the 1% rule to apply to. Not many, which is why we don't want to think of it as a rule, but a guideline.

Don’t bother. It’s almost useless. Do the real math.

^ He gets it - if you use this rule, you will overpay on some vehicles.

I've seen < 1% of MSRP on some Jaguars and Infinitis. Different price range than an Accord, mind you....

is it 1% including the tax on the payment or 1% excluding the tax?

If you are lucky, 1% including tax.

Generally, 1% without tax is a good rate.

You aren't yet going to see that on the Accord, as the MF is still too high.
