I have 5 payments to go on my X1 and negotiated that they take my current X1 as is ($550 in damage from pre-inspection) and tire and wheel included in new lease. Northern NJ.

I did not take the deal because they did not waive the remaining 5 months of the X1. Their mailer to get me in was very misleading and it wasn't until after the second offer did I realize that he was adding in the payments from the previous lease.

"Taking" and "paying for" are not the same thing. Pretty common tactic.

Rolling existing payments into a new lease is not generally wise.

Wait until December, then start shopping.
