    I custom ordered a Range Rover Velar 2019 - MSRP $73,990

Terms: 12K Miles for 39 months
They are giving me a monthly price of $1095.29
    MF: .00171

    Amount Due at Signing:
    1st month payment
    Acquisition Fee: $895
    Fees and Insurance: $367.00
    Doc Fee - $75
    Inspection Fee - $10
    License Fee - $270
    Tire Fee - $12.50
    Upfront Taxes: $3854.19

    Total Inception Fees: $6211.98
    Rebate as Cap Reduction: $1,000

    Total Drive Off - $7211.96

Total Cash Required on Delivery: $6211.98 (not sure about this either) - wouldnt the rebate bring the total drive off amount to $5211.96, NOT $7211.96? Why would it add $1000?

Purchase Option at end of Lease: $38,075.28

    Disposition Fee: $495.00

    Zip code: 11542

At first look, this deal seems off - seems way too high. Any suggestions?

Are you ordering it now? Or, is the vehicle here, and you just started negotiations?
    What trim/engine?

$7211 is the total drive-off. $6211 out of your pocket (to cover all upfront amounts), and $1000 rebate, with the rebate applied as a CAP cost reduction

I ordered it. It is at the dealer and I am negotiating.

He gave me a really bad price previously, but I then got a cosignor with a much better credit score and this is the new monthly payment I got.

I'm still not understanding the rebate above. On the previous deal (where it was based on my credit score), the due at signing amounts were all the exact same except on that offer, it didn't include a rebate. The out of pocket was still $6211 prior. The only difference on this offer is that they included the 1000 rebate. I don't get how a rebate of 1000 brings UP my amount due at signing. I'll post exactly how the offer sheets look (both the current and the previous)

In other words, this is the way it is laid out in the current offer (based on the better credit):

    Payment Deals
    Term: 39 months
    Base Payment: $1095.29
    Total Payment: $1095.29
    Purchase Option: $38075.28
    MSRP: $73990
    Est. Miles Per Year: 12000
    Disposition Fee: $495
    Excess Mileage Charge: 0.30

    Amount Due at Signing
    1st Month Payment: $1095.29
    Acquisition Fee $895.00
    Fees & Insurance $367.50
    Upfront Taxes $3854.19
    Total Inception Fees $6211.98

    Rebate as Cap Reduction $1000
    Total Drive Off $7211.98

Total Cash Required on Delivery $6211.98

The previous offer (based on my worse credit) had it laid out like below:

    Payment Deals
    Term: 39 months
    Base Payment: $1199.62
    Total Payment: $1199.62
    Purchase Option: $38075.28
    MSRP: $73990
    Est. Miles Per Year: 12000
    Disposition Fee: $495
    Excess Mileage Charge: 0.30

    Amount Due at Signing
    1st Month Payment: $1199.62
    Acquisition Fee $895.00
    Fees & Insurance $367.50
    Upfront Taxes $4118.88
    Total Inception Fees $6581.00

*There is no "Total Drive off" or Rebate portion - he said this rebate just popped up (in between when I got the first offer and this newer offer above

Total Cash Required on Delivery: $6581.00

My apologies for the long post - any help is appreciated. I really want to get a deal done ASAP.

Previous money factor was .00326 (for the 1190 monthly payment) and the current mf is .00171 for the new offer (1095 monthly payment)

The rebate does not increase the amount due at signing.
Drive-off is the total amount of cash available. (your cash + the rebate)
Your $6211 pays the upfront charges
The $1000 rebate is used to reduce the CAP cost (a downpayment).

    What trim and engine?

Negotiating price after you've ordered was a mistake. You don't have any leverage.

Can I please have the numbers for the 19 P250 S 12k/39mo in CA.
Also, what's a reasonable or average discount off the MSRP for the velar?
    Thank you!

The trim is a 250 R Dynamic SE. Automatic. it has the suede interior (which required the custom order).

So am I getting ripped off? Do I have any bargaining power whatsoever?

It looks to me like they are charging you $2000 over MSRP, before applying the rebate, then marking up the money factor, as well.

Is it a bad deal? Yes, it's a very bad deal.
Your leverage? Only if your are willing to walk away from it. Ordering "your" car without first negotiating the deal does not help you much.

Does the mf change with credit score? Sorry I am very inexperienced with this admittedly but I'm not understanding the MF you listed vs the MF they gave me. In what situations should there be the .00131 MF? Is that an average in the area? Because like I said, using just my credit, they were giving me a .00326 MF.

What should I tell the dealer? I just want to explain why this current deal is bad and what it realistically should be.

Thank you very much for all your answers and help. I really appreciate it.

Yes.. lower credit will result in a higher score.
The rates we give are for top tier credit.
But, dealers can markup the rate for extra profit, regardless of your credit tier.

The dealer knows why the deal is bad. That's their goal. To get you to sign a bad deal.

I basically said I need a better price or no deal. They said they will refund my deposit for the custom order. Guess i learned my lesson on negotiating beforehand. This dealer couldn't get me much info on the car before I custom ordered it beside the MSRP and possible lease terms, but definitely not the monthly lease price. They told me that changes monthly so what they tell me today would be drastically different in 3 months when the custom order finally arrives.

Part of that is true - the program numbers do change each month.

But, you can still negotiate the selling price when you place the order.

At that point, you only have to worry about the lease program in effect when you complete the deal. LR dealers are famous for marking up the MF astronomically.
