Hi, I'm getting quoted $444/month for a 36 month and 10k mile/year lease for a $49,995 2016 BMW 328i xDrive (selling price of $44,170) with 7 MSDs ($3.5k) and paying $1.5k for taxes upfront ($6k total upfront). I feel like the lease price is too high, am I missing sometiing?

If the post MSD MF is .00085, and the selling price is the CAP cost,
then: $416/mo.

If you are paying taxes upfront, and the final payment is $444, shouldn't the MSD amount be $3150?
Ask for the adjusted CAP cost and a reconciliation with the sale price.
I see no mention of the $925 acquisition fee.

The CAP cost has to be about $3475 higher than the sale price, to get the $499/mo. payment.
About $1800-$1900 for tax, $925 for acquisition fee. If you can come up with $700 more in legitimate charges, then it looks pretty good.

Wondering about this deal... It's a 2016 BMW 328i. It's my first time leasing so I want to make sure they're not getting over on me. This is all the info they gave me for now.

MSRP: $45,245. Discount $5250 with a rebate of $1500. They're also charging $499 window tint and $99 nitrogen.

Mileage is 10k a year. They want $500 down to make $640/36mos. Money factor of .00194.
Already from what I've seen, the MF is a bit high but not sure if that's due to my credit (669 fico auto enhanced).
Please advise.
ETA: This is for a lease in SC but I reside in GA. I also have a trade in. The value is only 10.5k but payoff 14k

669 credit score adds .00020 to the MF, so the dealer is still marking it up the max on you.

The $3500 negative equity is adding $100/mo to your payment. And, if you are a GA resident, you'll owe sales tax on the entire purchase price.

Can you wait until you have less negative equity?

The negative equity is actually the warranty I got on my Mercedes and they're supposed to refund me the amount remaining after the car is sold, so I was hoping that would help some. But maybe not?

BMW claimed they couldn't give me much more on my trade in since Mercedes has a recall on the airbags (it's a 2011 c300) and they don't have a solution for owners yet...
I figured that MF looked really ridiculous. Thanks for verifying.

Will the sales tax be figured into the payment? I'd been worried about how that would work out with GA's ad valorem tax and all... The last thing I want is to get this car and then have to pay some $2000+ when I want to register it...

Not sure how the taxes will work, if you're signing the paperwork in SC but registering the car in GA. Check with your state department of revenue website to see what your options are.

That Takata airbag recall is biting people in all sorts of ways.

Just leased a 2016 328 with Premium, Tech, driver assistance, and driver assistant plus, 18" alloy wheel, heated seat, and, Harmon Kardon for an MSRP of 51,170. Concord BMW in N. California has a black Friday sales of all 328 sold at $8,000 below MSRP starting Friday (our price is 43,179 for the 51,170 MSRP 328) , buy rate of 0.00134 for 36 months/10k mi per year. My drive off is 7 MSDs + first month payment of 427.77 (incl sales tax of 8.5%) + 504. Our car is sold technically as a demo car with only 25 miles on the odometer, so all the option credit and rebate did not apply to this car. But $8000 discount sound good enough. The best I can do before this black friday sales by Concord BMW come along is $6500 below MSRP from another greater bay area dealer. There are 3-4 328 avilable at $8000 discount but they all have over 51K MSRP. All the lower priced 328 were gone. Painless transaction... Thanks everyone for your help..

Congrats! Though, if the car hasn't been titled, it should have been eligible for the incentives. Might have been included in the discount from sticker.

thanks. They asked us to signed a form to acknowledged that it is sold as used car (and my wife was taken a back by the form). I think it is the used car sales form that void all the rebate / option credit (and they can get the demo sales support from BMW. Apparently each BMW dealer has a certain number of sales demo allowance that they can get each year.). Before the shopping exercise, I was hoping for 1400 drive off (basically pay the acquisition fee + DMV registration fee) + MSD to get to 460-470 a month payment. So this deal was a pleasant surprise. The best part is that it is the exact color combo and equipment combo that we want. I tried to price out a 16 Q50 and 16 IS200t. Q50 looks to be in the high 400 monthly payment with MSDs and IS200t should be in the low 400 pyament with MSDs.. Let's hope everyone get a good deal this holiday season.

I'm here in Socal, found two lease for 320i.
1. 168+tax+license/per month for 24month lease with 10kmiles with 5k down
2. 198+tax+license/per month for 36month lease with 10kmiles with $2350 cash down + 1750 security deposit. (#2, They are willing to give me 198+tax with $0 down but no backup camera & I'm pushing to give with backup camera).

I donot have their MSRP, just saw their listing but think its pretty lowest stock price value around $34K. I'm curious which one is better. Any advise

We don't recommend any sort of down payment on a lease; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

.00134 and 69% for 24/10 or 63% for 36/10.

If you have the MSRP and selling price, we can run the numbers for you.

It is an incentive to help reduce the price. Negotiate your best deal, then subtract the incentive amount.

I am close to a deal on a car and just wanted to check if BMW has any numbers available for other lease terms for 2016 340i such as 39 months/12k, 39 months/15k, 42 months/12k, or 42 months/15k? Otherwise does 36 months seem to be the sweet spot? Thanks to the great moderators!

Right now on 2016s I would shoot for 11-15% off MSRP. For 2016 model years the dealer should be able to let it go for invoice cost - the $1,500 incentive and any other incentives you may qualify for. For example right now USAA members can get a $1,000 lease incentive as well and there is a $1,000 BMW loyalty incentive. If the car is classified as a DEMO there is also $2,000 dealer cash you can persuade them to throw in. Just because it is marked a DEMO does not necessarily mean it was driven a ton, many dealers do this with their stale new car inventory to help BMW sales numbers because reporting the car as a DEMO counts as a sale. The dealer can still make a fair profit by letting the car go at such a discount by either marking up the money factor to .00174 and/or they still receive additional factory to dealer payments each month from the automaker based on their sales goals. You can typically get a better deal closer to the end of the month as the dealer may be very close to their next sales goal/tier and will be able to discount further to get another sale done.

You don't have to determine the dealer's profit to lease a car. You just have to agree to a price.

I don't think you are going to do much better than the deal that is on the table.
