What are numbers for 430/440 GC (RWD), 3 years/12 or 15 k. My understanding is RV is tiered down by 1 or 2 points on packages. Thanks.

Never heard of a tiered residual for BMW. At least, the docs we have for March say nothing about it.

All 4-series numbers are the same - regardless of body style or engine.

You are correct. Starting with the 2018 4-series, certain packages reduce the residual.

Luxury or M-Sport reduce by 1%
Executive Luxury or Executive M-Sport reduce by 2%

M-Sport deducts 1% from the residual value

All the other packages have no impact on the residual

Looks like, according to Bimmerfest, BMW just abandoned the 2018 4-series tiered residual. Lots of resistance from the dealer. Perhaps enough people walked during the order process when they saw that.

I've heard that from another person here at Edmunds.

Though, it makes sense. Lots of brands have lower residuals on higher trim cars.

What are the MF and residual for a 36 month 10k 2017 430i rear drive convertible (actually since I will order it this week, it will be technically an LCI 2018, even though it will be here before June 15). What discount to expect from an almost fully loaded $64,020 car?

Yeah that's true.. My impression was that they would have a higher residual but a higher MF for the newer model, just so it makes sense. In any case, the monthly payment for the newer one is expected to be higher.

Probably asking for too much info, but I still thought of putting it out there. Do you expect the residual to increase and match with the current 2017 model values anytime soon? Going back to the 2017 forum and looking at the last year's posts, I found that the model was released in July 2016 with low residual value but it shot back up in Sep. I'm guessing BMW waits a couple of months so that the previous model inventory is cleared out? Any thoughts?

Good on you for researching last year's numbers. I have no reason to think the same pattern won't hold this year.

I agree with your presumption that the new model year numbers are low to encourage folks to lease or buy the remaining inventory from the previous model year.

BTW, it a bummer they'll discontinue the multiple security deposit program (unless they change their mind, like they did with the tiered residual).

There is an adjustment on the MF, but I can't remember which way.
