I have a general question for the discussion, I just had my local dealer give me some info on a 2019 R-Dynamic SE, MSRP $66411, 36 month lease and 12k miles and 58% residual. He quoted me monthly rent/mf of $181.77!!

I asked him if he made a mistake and he said no and that the best terms. I told him no thanks obviously...

Anyone had similar term offered to them?

LR dealers like to go for broke on their first quote. No discounting, massively marked up MF, anything and everything they can.

    This is quite common, sadly.

    Hello,

I am looking for the current numbers for a Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic P250 SE 36/10k in CA zip code 93611. Specifically the MF/ RV and possibly your thoughts of where my payments may be with a credit score of 740 and a final price after fees of $63k. Whatever info you can provide, is much appreciated. TIA

    What is the MSRP?

Is the "final price" a purchase quote? Does that amount include sales tax?

Hello! I posted this in the 2018 Velar thread and maybe should post it here instead.

Can I please get the MF and residual on a 2019 Velar P250S 4 Cyl from Land Rover Orlando.
    This is for 36/15k
    MSRP - $63,762
    Sale Price - $61,762

Also, based on this, what do you think a lease price should be with zero down?

Thanks so much for your help!

The MF on 2018's seem to be much better than 2019's. I didn't know there was a difference in the models. Any insight?

It's an incentive to move the old model. And, to make up for the lower residual on the 2018.

Is the residual value set by the manufacturer, bank , or dealer? One is telling me for the 2018 velar r dynamic se 51% , while another is telling me 55%. Also the MF does your credit score affect what your MF is going to be?

The leasing bank sets the residual value.

If it's different, then here are the possibilities:
    1) Quoting different trims
    2) Quoting different term/mileage
    3) Quoting a different leasing bank
    4) Quoting different model years

Yes, less than top-tier credit will bring higher rates.
But, dealers can also markup your rate for extra profit, regardless of your credit

I would like your opinion. I was quoted a price of 66700 for 2018 verlar r dynamic se, residual 41819, 3000 down, MF 0.00126, do you think is good? 36 months / 7500 per year.

Also did any of you purchase any of the protection plans. My friend told me they have Land Rover Maintenance plan, another that covers the replacement of brake pad, rotors, blades, appearance and windshield plan, another plan for tire and wheel (I will be purchasing one from outside which covers dents, key replacement).

    MSRP 76488
  • kyfdxkyfdx Everywhere, USAPosts: 126,124

    MSRP 76488

Is that the 380 V-6 model?

Are you sure it isn't $74,600, rather than $76,400? (trying to match it up with the residual amount)

What payment came with that quote?

Its the p380 r dynamic se, yes the v6 model. It has an MSRP of 76488, after my trade in and 3000 downpayment, I'm paying 453.

The MSRP is the factory window sticker - the adjusted CAP cost will be the negotiated price, less the trade equity and down payment.

I get a lower payment than they do... but, as I noted before the residual doesn't match up to the MSRP, either.

    That's a big downpayment for a lease.

  • do you mind posting all residuals for 2019 Velars- all trims for 36/12K? zip 19107.
i'd like to see the difference across all trims. I've been told getting a 65k velar (forget the trim) will lease better than a base model 54K with just a few options.
ie. base velar 250 vs. 250 S and so on?

Yeah... that's too much to ask.

    Six different trims.
None of the higher trim models has a lease program that will make them comparable in lease payment to a lower trim model

Nope, a bit more work for us than that … pick a trim (or two), and we'll be happy to give you the numbers.

But, the advice my co-host offered above is valid - and true for many brands and models. Higher trim levels do not lease as well as lower trim levels, due to higher pricing and lower residuals.
